During the wedding of Claudia Barretto, daughter of Marjorie Barretto, a video taken inside St. James the Great Parish in Ayala Alabang captured Mateo carrying a baby whose face was turned away from the camera. Based on the video, the baby appeared to be only about a month old.
Mateo seemed to be talking to his parents while soothing and entertaining the baby, who appeared to be fussy. This has led many to believe that Erich and Mateo now have two children — meaning there could be about a two-year age gap between their kids.
It will be remembered that on June 28, 2023, Father Frankie Mabanta made public the baptism photo of Erich and Mateo’s first child, Jose Mateo Gonzalez Lorenzo. Apparently, this post had been up for almost two years. In the caption, Father Frankie noted that Jose Mateo is the third generation he has baptized in the Lorenzo family. He also officiated the wedding of the baby’s grandparents, Mr. Martin Lorenzo and Lea de Leon Lorenzo, 34 years ago. Furthermore, Father Frankie baptized Mateo himself 31 years ago, and now, he baptized Mateo’s firstborn.
That baptism photo of Jose Mateo also trended at the time. However, Father Frankie has since deleted the post, likely to avoid further public attention, especially as Claudia and Basti’s wedding became a hot topic.
For now, it seems unlikely that Erich will be returning to showbiz anytime soon, as she is personally taking care of her two young children.
Some speculate that Erich’s in-laws advised her to raise her kids without a nanny, as that is how they raised their own two children — without household help.
