With the passing of National Artist Nora Aunor, she left behind various stories and issues that are still being discussed and debated by her fans, the “Supernans.”
One of the most talked-about topics is whether Ate Guy left anything to be inherited by her five children: Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth de Leon.
It is said that the late superstar had a Last Will and Testament. There has also been discussion regarding Nora’s properties in Bicol, which reportedly became problematic and even led to legal disputes. In recent years, it was said that Ate Guy was preoccupied with trying to resolve these matters, and it allegedly even resulted in a lawsuit.
Esperanza Fabon Victorino, a former singer-actress who surprised many when she became a Judge of the Court of Tax Appeals, shared a story about this. She has been a long-time friend of Nora, also known as Ate Gay.
Esperanza was exclusively interviewed by Pepsi at Nora’s wake on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at The Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City. According to Esperanza, Nora visited her office twice in 2019 to ask for help regarding property issues in Iriga City, Camarines Sur—Nora’s hometown.
Esperanza said,
“She had problems with her provincial properties. We talked for a long time, and she brought so many documents. I told her, ‘Gay, I can’t go through all these papers now—there’s just too much.’
She said, ‘I’ll just explain them to you.’ So she told me her story.”
Esperanza further explained that property issues are often complicated, especially when legal matters are involved.
“Since Nora isn’t a lawyer—she’s not even a layperson when it comes to the law—whatever she tells me might not align with what really needs to be done. Her interpretation of the situation may be different. If a lawyer were to review the documents, they might offer a different opinion. So I told her to bring all the documents to me.”
During their second meeting in 2019, Nora reportedly asked Esperanza to refer her to a lawyer.
“She said, ‘Why don’t you just give me a lawyer?’” Esperanza recounted.
Nora Aunor was once one of the highest-earning actresses in the country. In the 1980s, reports said she was earning ₱250,000 per film—a huge amount for that time. Adjusted to today’s value, that would be around ₱5 million to ₱10 million per movie.
Because of her success, Nora was indeed very wealthy during that era. She acquired several houses and lots in Quezon City, Bicol, and other parts of the country. She also owned multiple vehicles and various investments.
At the peak of her fame, Nora’s estimated net worth was said to have reached around ₱800 million. However, this gradually diminished due to financial problems she faced later in life—some of which were connected to her past legal troubles involving illegal drugs.
Now, many people are wondering who will inherit Nora Aunor’s wealth. Some are asking what she actually left behind for her loved ones. It is expected that her only biological child, Ian de Leon, will be the primary heir.
As of now, the contents of her Last Will and Testament remain unknown. According to reports, it is still in the possession of her lawyer and has yet to be opened.
