Manila, Philippines — What was supposed to be a solemn period of remembrance and tribute has now taken a dramatic and emotional turn, as tensions reportedly erupted within the family of the Philippine superstar Nora Aunor over her collection of priceless jewelry.

Sources close to the family have revealed that Matet de Leon, one of Nora’s adopted daughters, has allegedly started taking custody of several pieces of the actress’s iconic jewelry — a move that sparked confusion, disappointment, and even confrontation among other relatives.

“She Took Them Without Asking!” – A Family Source Speaks Out

According to insiders, the jewelry in question includes heirloom pieces Nora wore during her prime in the 1970s and 1980s — necklaces, rings, and earrings with both sentimental and monetary value. One source, who asked to remain anonymous, claimed:

“Those items were supposed to be preserved, maybe even donated to a museum someday. But Matet reportedly took them, claiming they were hers by right.”

The allegation has triggered heated debates among Aunor’s children and extended relatives, with some arguing that Nora herself may have verbally promised the jewelry to Matet. Others insist that any division of her belongings should happen formally, fairly, and with everyone’s presence.

A History of Strained Ties?

It’s no secret that Matet and Nora have had a complicated mother-daughter relationship over the years. Matet had previously spoken publicly about feeling neglected and distanced from her adoptive mother, particularly during critical points in her life.

“Is this just about the jewelry, or are old wounds resurfacing again?” asked one netizen, reacting to the trending hashtag #NoraHeirloomIssue on X (formerly Twitter).

Legal Battle Looming?

Family lawyer Atty. Ric Feliciano said in a brief statement:

“At this point, no formal charges or legal actions have been filed. However, if the disputes continue, a legal resolution may be the only peaceful path forward.”

Reports also suggest that other Aunor children, including Ian and Lotlot de Leon, are staying quiet for now, choosing not to fan the flames in public — although they are said to be “deeply upset” over the alleged actions.

Fans React: “Let Her Legacy Live in Peace”

Longtime fans of Nora Aunor have expressed sorrow and concern over the ongoing family discord, especially as the actress’s health and legacy continue to be central to national attention.

“Please stop fighting. Nora gave her whole life to the people — don’t let her legacy be reduced to petty arguments,” one fan wrote on Facebook.

What Will Happen Next?

As of this writing, no member of the Aunor family has officially confirmed or denied the allegations. Matet de Leon has yet to issue a statement, while fans and media await any word from the superstar’s camp.

With emotions running high, and the fate of Nora Aunor’s most personal treasures hanging in the balance, the public can only hope that family unity and respect will prevail over material possessions.

Nora, spoke about her conflict with Matet!
Nora Aunor has also given her side regarding the conflict she had with her son Matet de Leon last December 2022 which was rooted in gourmet tuyo.

It can be recalled that Matet got angry with his mother when she competed with him in his gourmet tuyo business and he really lashed out on his social media account.

In January this year, the mother and son also reconciled but we have not heard Ate Guy’s side about it yet.

In Superstar’s previous guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, this was one of the things they discussed and according to Guy, he did not know that it would hurt Matet’s feelings.

“That’s because, we didn’t have a… maybe my son is going through something too and I also don’t know that he is going through something.

“As for me, I had something like, ‘come on, let’s make tuyo,’ like that. I didn’t know that he would be hurt. So, that’s it, there was a grudge. But like I said earlier, talking is important,” explained ate Guy.

She also shared that her children are okay now.

“We are okay now, my children are visiting me. Ian (De Leon), Ian just arrived, from Japan, shooting. On Sundays, they visit me, all their family,” she said.

“Lotlot, lately we have been seeing each other and he also visited me,” Guy added.

In the said interview, Nora also admitted that she really misses her children a lot.

“There are times when, of course, people know that I am not with the children. Of course, I miss them too.

“We have misunderstandings that I told you, I don’t hide it. But the important thing is that you talk to each other, understand each other. Whatever the children lack, the mother will provide.

“No matter what, they say, you are a mother. You should show your children what is really right.

“So, there are shortcomings. I have many shortcomings with my children. But when we meet, I can tell them my grievances, we talk about what should be done. They listen. The important thing is, we talk,” Nora said at length.

Ate Guy also mentioned that she wants to be in a movie with her family again.

Rabiya, ready to marry Jeric!
Rabiya Mateo said with all her radiance that she is ready to marry boyfriend Jeric Gonzalez. But that will be after 2 years and not right away.

Rabiya was asked by King of Talk Boy Abunda on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda if she would accept a marriage proposal now.

Earlier, she admitted to Kuya Boy that she rejected her ex-boyfriend Neil Salvacion’s proposal, which is why they broke up. At that time, she said she wasn’t ready to settle down because she still wanted to achieve a lot.

But now, she said, the situation is different.

“During that time, I was just 23. And now, tito Boy, I feel like I’ve fulfilled my dream for my family. I’ve bought Mama a house. I’ve given them savings, I’ve saved up.

“Maybe, not right away but maybe in two years. Because Tito Boy, I want to be a mother. I can see myself. But that’s not the only decision I’ll make. “My partner should be me and him,” Rabiya said.

While the beauty queen was speaking, Jeric was shown on the screen, making her laugh and explaining really well.
