In an emotional moment, Lotlot de Leon shared his thoughts and gratitude in his eulogy for his mother, National Artist Nora Aunor, on the last night of her funeral on Monday, April 21, at the Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig. In his speech, Lotlot revealed that the Superstar lost her pulse three times before finally passing away on Holy Wednesday.
According to Lotlot, the first flatline incident was a few years ago, where Nora was revived. It happened again recently, and like the first time, their mother was given a new lease of life. But for the third time, Lotlot said they chose to let her go. “We’ve let our mommy go,” he said emotionally as he recalled the Superstar’s final days.
Lotlot also recalled the moments when he and his siblings were talking in the hospital when a nurse suddenly came over to inform them that their mother had flatlined again. For the actress, this is a sign of Nora’s continued fight to stay alive, but in the end, she chose to rest.
Lotlot also shared the last conversation she had with her mother about her condition. She said she tried to ask how she was doing, but Nora only calmly replied: “Son, don’t worry, I can handle it.” According to Lotlot, the first symptoms were only a cough and a cold, but they never thought that this would end up in the last stage of Nora’s life.
