There are currently many speculations circulating on social media about what will happen to Atasha Muhlach once she finishes her commitments outside of Eat Bulaga. At present, filming and taping continue for the Philippine adaptation of the Thai blockbuster movie The Bad News: The Series, where Atasha Muhlach plays one of the lead roles.

Before the series becomes available exclusively on the streaming platform of her home network, Studio Viva, Atasha has been busy filming in various locations across Luzon. She is also involved in promoting the series at events and mall tours nationwide.

Fans, especially those who have grown fond of Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez’s daughter, are having a hard time accepting the temporary absence of Atasha from Eat Bulaga. This absence was confirmed by the series’ director, Direk Cabrido, who explained that scheduling conflicts with her Viva project have made it impossible for Atasha to continue hosting on the noontime show for now.

Many fans of Eat Bulaga, known as the “Dabarkads,” are asking for transparency from both camps about Atasha’s status with the show. She had become one of the most anticipated and loved hosts, despite her relatively new presence on the program. While temporary replacements like Julia Barretto and Arbonne Gabriel are gradually being accepted and seen as having potential, loyal viewers still look for clarity regarding Atasha’s future on the show.

The issue about the non-renewal of Atasha’s contract with Eat Bulaga‘s production team, TBJ Productions, has caused further confusion. Reports say her contract expired last March 13, but no clear announcement was made to fans. Director Cabrido had previously clarified that her departure was only temporary and due to her current commitments with Viva TV.

This was seemingly confirmed by entertainment host Cristy Fermin on her YouTube show Showbiz Now Na, alongside Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez. Citing a trusted source from within the Eat Bulaga family, Fermin said that either Vic Sotto or Joey de Leon opted not to push through with a new contract signing with Atasha. However, it wasn’t due to any bad blood—quite the opposite.

According to these insiders, Tito, Vic, and Joey still have a good relationship with Atasha’s parents, Aga and Charlene. For them, signing a contract was merely a formality. Their bond with the Muhlach-Gonzalez family was more important than paperwork. The management allegedly said that as long as people want to see Atasha on Eat Bulaga, she will always have a place there.

Still, some viewers remain unconvinced. They question why Atasha hasn’t even visited the studio recently, which fuels speculation that she has permanently left the noontime show to focus on a different path in her showbiz career.

However, others suggest simply waiting until Atasha wraps up her current Viva project. Only then will she be able to fully commit again to her duties as a host on Eat Bulaga—without any scheduling conflicts or divided attention.
