Several showbiz insiders have confirmed that Viva Artist Agency officially pulled out Atasha Muhlach from Eat Bulaga and the “Barcads” segment as early as April 9, following the expiration of her contract with the noontime show last March 13.

This has now raised a big question among her fans about what will happen to Atasha’s future on Eat Bulaga, especially after she wraps up her ongoing projects outside the show under Viva TV.

It can be recalled that Viva Studio publicly announced that Atasha would be one of the lead stars in the Philippine adaptation of the Thai blockbuster movie Dabdab Genius: The Series. She will be joined by fellow Viva talents Jus Aquino, Gab Lumanlan, and Hyacent Calado.

According to the series’ director, Direk Cabredo—who also commented on Atasha’s departure—the possible reason behind her exit from Eat Bulaga was due to a scheduling conflict between her two jobs.

He added that Atasha would need to make a major sacrifice in balancing her career, between hosting and acting in The Budging News, which requires her full-time commitment due to the numerous locations and intensive shooting schedule involved in the series.

However, after the public endorsement of The Budging News, many people began asking Direk Cabredo about what would happen to Atasha once she finishes this project. He responded that he only has limited information about that matter and that only Viva Artist Agency and TBG Productions know the real status of Atasha’s situation.

Still, he reiterated that the main reason for her temporary absence from Eat Bulaga was a conflict in schedule.

But on June 3, according to a popular tabloid and online article, an update was released about Atasha Muhlach’s real status in Eat Bulaga. It claimed that she no longer has a job to return to on the said noontime show. It was reportedly as early as February this year that “Bossing B” spoke with Aga Muhlach himself.

Apparently, TBJ gave Atasha a hosting extension until April, even though her contract had already expired in March.

According to the same report, Aga Muhlach graciously accepted TBJ Productions’ decision, made by Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, and expressed his gratitude for the opportunities given to Atasha—not just to develop her acting career but also to hone her hosting skills.

Many fans were saddened by the news, especially those who had grown to love Atasha’s presence on Eat Bulaga. However, there are still many who hope that she may return to the noontime show someday, since she already made a name for herself there.
