ABS-CBN Apologizes to Regine Velasquez After Being Criticized for Leveling Regine and Chloe San Jose
Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez, has accepted an apology from ABS-CBN after she was featured in a promotional photo of the Myx Music Awards with iconic rapper Gloc-9, but was deemed to be just like “starlets.” The incident angered many of Regine’s fans and netizens, prompting the Kapamilya Network to issue a statement and send Regine a bouquet of roses as part of their apology.

In her social media post, Regine thanked ABS-CBN for the flowers they sent her, although they said they didn’t have to. She added, “Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers again you guys didn’t have to but I appreciate it.”

The incident began when ABS-CBN’s digital team released the poster for the Myx Music Awards, which featured Regine in a promo photo with Gloc-9 and several “starlets.” Many of Regine’s supporters were not happy with the way Regine’s photo was positioned, which they described as inappropriate and insulting.

One netizen said, “Myx Global’s poster is downright insulting! To place Asia’s Songbird alongside starlets is a complete disregard for her unmatched legacy and artistry. She’s a legend, not a trend to be exploited for attention. This kind of disrespect is inexcusable! #RespectRegine Velasquez.”

Many other netizens showed support for this statement, and they also criticized Regine’s small photo on the poster, as well as her placement at the very end of the photo.
