Kaka-promote Lang Ni Mister, Bigla Siyang Humiling ng Annulment — Pagkalabas ng Korte, May Dumating na Supercar Para Sunduin si Misis… At Ang Lalaki sa Loob ng Sasakyan Ay…
Isabela Cruz walked slowly down the steps of the Makati Regional Trial Court, gripping the freshly signed annulment papers still warm from her ex-husband’s hand. She tilted her face up toward the bright summer sky, but her eyes stung with a quiet bitterness.
That morning, just as the hearing ended, Marco—the man she had loved faithfully for seven years—looked at her with chilling indifference and said:
“This is where we end. I just got promoted to Executive Director, and I don’t want a wife who will hold me back anymore.”
Those words pierced her chest like a blade.
For years, she had stood quietly behind him, making sure every meal was warm, every shirt ironed, every silent need answered before he ever had to speak. And with just one sentence, he wiped it all away.
Her heels echoed against the cold stone path like reminders of everything she’d lost. Isabela paused, slipped off her stilettos, and carried them by hand. She wanted her feet to feel the ground—to remind herself: from now on, she stood alone.
Suddenly, the low hum of a luxury engine drew attention from the small crowd outside the courthouse. A sleek, black Rolls-Royce Wraith slowly pulled up in front of her.
Isabela froze.
The door opened.
Stepping out was a tall man in a tailored gray suit, striking and confident. His features were sharp, his eyes intense—but when he looked at her, they softened into something heartbreakingly gentle.
“Isabela… get in the car.”
She gasped. It was Liam Velasquez.
Liam had been her close friend in college—someone who had always admired her from a distance. Back then, she chose Marco. After graduation, Liam left quietly without a word.
She hadn’t heard from him in eight years.
“Liam… why are you here?” she stammered, voice shaking.
He didn’t answer immediately. He simply held out his hand. His lashes lowered slightly, trying to hide the hint of red in his eyes.
He already knew.
He knew about the annulment. About how she was blamed for not conceiving. About how she was cast out of Marco’s life with nothing.
“Come with me. Let me take you to lunch. I don’t want you to be alone today.”
She stared at the hand reaching out to her. And just like that, the tears she had kept buried all morning began to fall. Silently, she stepped into the car.
Inside, the cool scent of mint filled the cabin. Liam leaned over and buckled her seatbelt. It was a small act—but it made her chest tighten.
How long had it been since someone was this gentle to her?
The car glided along the Manila Bay Drive, wind softly rustling through her hair as the city skyline passed. She turned to look at him—his hands steady on the wheel, eyes focused, composed.
“What have you been doing all this time?” she finally asked.
“I moved to Singapore. Took my master’s. Built a software company. I’ve come back to open a branch here.”
He paused.
“And… I heard about what happened to you. So I came to find you.”
She swallowed. “Why, Liam?”
He pulled the car over by the bay, near their old college hangout in Roxas Boulevard, then looked at her with eyes full of clarity.
“I know you’re hurting right now, and you don’t want anyone near. But I’ve waited eight years, Isabela. My feelings never changed. If you’re tired… just lean on me. Even just for a while.”
That’s when she broke.
The sobs she had held back for months poured out—sharp, heavy, raw. She wept not only from pain, but from the bittersweet realization that someone had been waiting for her all this time.
Liam took her to a cozy lakeside eatery in Taguig, the one that used to serve her favorite sinigang na bangus when they were students. He remembered. Every little detail she thought no one noticed—he had kept in his heart.
As she ate quietly, her phone rang.
It was Marco.
“Isabela, where the hell are you? Come back and sign the final property division. Then leave the city. I don’t want to see your face again.”
She looked at Liam.
Without saying a word, he took the phone from her, hit the red button, and placed it screen-down on the table.
“You don’t need to listen to voices that don’t value you anymore.”
Her hand trembled. The spoon fell from her fingers and hit the plate with a soft clang.
In that moment, Isabela realized something.
Some people love only themselves.
But others—others will wait quietly behind the scenes, with arms wide open and hearts full of unwavering grace.
Outside the glass window, the sunset turned the bay golden and violet. The breeze carried the scent of salt and promise.
She looked up at the sky and smiled through her tears.
Because annulment wasn’t the end.
Sometimes, walking away from someone unworthy… is how you finally walk toward someone who truly is
