In an emotional update, Kris shared a photo where she holds her daughter’s hand while lying in a hospital bed. At the same time, a caption made many cry:

Kris Aquino has released a new open letter to explain her breakup with ex-boyfriend Dr. Mike Padlan.

At the same time, Kris apologized to Dr. Mike’s family who were close to her.

This is based on Kris’s Instagram post this Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

On March 16, Kris first announced that Dr. Mike divorced her because he allegedly wanted to get rid of taking care of his seriously ill girlfriend.

Dr. Mike’s son Miguel Padlan contradicted that.

In a Facebook post on March 19, Miguel expressed his thoughts in defense of his father.

Miguel believes that Dr. Mike truly loved Kris, especially since his father allegedly sacrificed things for Kris.

As children, Miguel and his other siblings understood the times Dr. Mike traveled to the U.S. to visit Kris.

“It may hurt to admit that my siblings and I sometimes felt neglected by our father, but we understand—Mama Kris needed him, and we respected that,” Miguel emphasized

Even though Dr. Mike sometimes ran out of money and lost patients, he chose to visit Kris in the U.S.

The “spark” between Kris and Dr. Mike was lost, which led to their relationship breaking up.

Miguel also said: “All we ask is that she does not spread stories that are untrue.

“My father’s friends and patients know who he truly is, and they can attest to his character.”

Miguel also clarified that Dr. Mike never asked for money from Kris.

Any “financial support” or gifts that Dr. Mike received were given voluntarily by Kris.

KRIS AQUINO CLAIMS SHE DID NOT LIE ABOUT THE BREAKUP
Two weeks later, in Kris’s Instagram post on April 2, she responded to Dr. Mike’s son’s statement.

Kris insisted, “I DO NOT LIE.”

Kris stood by her conclusion that Dr. Mike could not handle having a girlfriend with a serious illness.

Kris’s argument, “My last post was written by a still angry ex girlfriend who had felt, that even for her health care, she was unimportant and not a priority.”

Kris contradicted herself when she confirmed how many times she Dr. Mike visited the U.S., outside of his obligations as a doctor.

It was late 2024 when the friendship between him and Dr. Mike deepened.

Kris said: “Dr. Padlan did go to Houston to check on me. My mistake is that I failed to state that he flew to LA around 4X more on his own volition.

“I didn’t ask for him to check on me, I would just be surprised that he’d be there.

“Those visits weren’t paid for, he was still receiving blood transfusions.

According to Kris, when he was in the U.S., he met some members of Dr. Mike’s family.

Dr. Mike’s siblings live in the Bay Area.

Dr. Mike’s younger sister reportedly visited Kris, along with Dr. Mike’s young nephew, whom Kris called “Pokemon.”

When Dr. Mike returned to the Philippines, Dr. Mike’s nephew, Pokemon, was still staying at Kris’ house.

Kris’s children, Josh and Bimby, arrived in the U.S. just in time.

Josh, Bimby, and Pokemon became friends; and they even went to various theme parks together.

When Pokemon’s mother picked him up, Kris allegedly instructed Bimby to buy Pokemon clothes and toys.

Kris also ordered Pokemon to buy a toy to take back to the Philippines for “Lego.”

After Kris returned to the Philippines, she also had the opportunity to meet Lego.

Lego calls Kris “Mama Kris”.

Kris explained in detail: “Meeting ‘Lego’ when I got back was unfiltered joy. He talks nonstop and asks intelligent questions.

“He liked the Japanese flavored milk and every visit he’d say, ‘Mama Kris, can I have strawberry milk?’ I’d reply, ‘What’s the magic word?’

“‘Lego’ would think for a bit, then say, ‘PLEASE, Mama Kris?’ Like me he preferred vanilla cupcakes with milk chocolate frosting.

“Both ‘Pokemon’ and ‘Lego’ loved steak & shrimp/prawns just like Kuya & Bimb, who cooked often for ‘Pokémon’ while we were in OC.”

After Kris pointed out how close she was to some members of Dr. Mike’s family, she then apologized for their involvement in her and Dr. Mike’s breakup.

Kris said she hoped Pokemon and Lego would read her message.

Notably, Miguel was not included in the message she shared.

Kris’ message: “Mama Kris is VERY SORRY for making you angry and sad because of what I posted.

“I was wrong in not considering the impact it would have on both of you. You both brought sunshine and laughter when I needed it most.

“I know I am no longer deserving to be your Mama Kris…

“BUT even if I had known things would end up this way—except for hurting the 2 of you, your mommy, and your Aunt Judith—I would still have chosen to give loving one more attempt;

Kris also recalled some happy memories with Dr. Mike.

“After a breakup, you do get a choice—what memories you will decide to keep.

“There’s already so much fear and loneliness in life—so I choose to keep the seemingly ordinary yet undeniably, happy moments,” said Kris.

One of them is said to be when he opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Dr. Mike.

“I was sleeping soundly, still very weak when I opened my eyes, it was the face of Doc Mike I saw, worried and concerned—Bimb had gone out and my nurse on duty was taking a break.

“For the first time in years, seeing a man, a DOCTOR watching over me, I FELT SAFE,” Kris looked back.

It is said that Kris became a support to the ex-boyfriend.

Kris continued: “Ours was a different kind of courtship. Long-distance relationship via WhatsApp, we were in Orange County, California, so technically he was no longer a doctor.

“In him I saw what I had been looking for—someone I could discuss my medical issues with—my feeling of fatigue, my lack of balance, my suffering from suddenly getting dizzy then collapsing, the significance of my blood draw results, especially my alarmingly low hemoglobin, the bones jutting out of my knee, and why had my taste buds changed, everything by Thanksgiving of 2023-tasted very salty.

“I totally lost my appetite and was surviving on 4 mugs of milk a day.”

In Kris’ description, Dr. became a good boyfriend. Mike to him.

“My other favorite moments: Doc Mike cooking bulalo for us (the best I’ve tasted); seeing him slicing beef perfectly (he’s a surgeon after all); and me giving an impromptu cooking class, on how to make Filipino style spaghetti with Doc Mike saying, ‘Tama ang balita, masarap nga ang spaghetti by Kris Aquino.’”

While Kris said she was happy to be with Dr. Mike, she also shared why their relationship still ended in a breakup.

“What really went wrong—many things,” Kris continued.

“I honestly believed that finally—I was going to have my HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

“I expected too much…

“As my autoimmune diseases multiplied, the more he retreated.”

Until Dr. Mike finally gave up on her.

“After a very stressful time when we returned home, I forgave and I fought hard for our relationship, while he couldn’t forget and gave up on us,” Kris said.

She also added, “Nobody should be blamed, I’m not ashamed to admit, I was the one who loved and needed more.”

KRIS AQUINO ON DR. MIKE AS HER DOCTOR
On the other hand, Kris also shared what she said was her and Dr. Mike’s previous doctor-patient relationship.

She said it was May 2022 when she took Dr. Mike’s services as a “travel doctor.”

That was the time Kris first left the Philippines for the U.S. to treat her autoimmune diseases.

Kris said, “Dr. Mike Padlan wasn’t the doctor who accompanied me on the flight to Houston.

“Yet I didn’t ask for a refund.”

Kris did not say why Dr. Mike didn’t accompany her on the flight to the U.S.

Kris also explained Dr. Mike’s diagnosis when she saw him as a doctor.

She said (published as is): “I am very grateful he was the one who diagnosed my Shingles.

“Shingles together with what was then 4 diagnosed autoimmune diseases and another 1 clearly exhibiting symptoms but still negative in my tests + a patient allergic to all fever reducers including paracetamol, NSAIDS, Opioids, and Steroids makes it very difficult for even the best doctors in the Philippines, Singapore, and the US to treat me for all that ails me.”

KRIS AQUINO ON SENDING FINANCIAL HELP FOR DR. MIKE
In the last part of Kris’ IG post, she responded to some statements made by Dr. Mike’s son Miguel.

Miguel specifically revealed that one of Dr. Mike’s sacrifices was visiting Kris in the U.S. even though the doctor had no money because he was losing his patient.

Kris said: “Doc Mike did have financial problems last year, but it’s unfair to blame that on me.

“I am also not in a position to say why these hardships occurred—I only hope that those who love and wish to defend him realize this valid point, when a man needs help—what man would want a handout from his sick girlfriend?

“He was distraught, from what I know August when he and ‘Pokémon’ flew home, his asthma and flu were ferocious.

“I offered my help and he thanked me.”

It is said that Kris voluntarily wired money to Dr. It was Mike.

He said: “When making a bank to bank fund transfer you are required to say for what purpose.

“To set the record straight from August 21 to August 28, 2024, Alvin upon my instructions, had funds transferred to Doc Mike’s personal account from 3 of the banks we have placements in.

“It was sizable enough that’s why I want to thank Bimb for his trust and generosity— roughly half of the money labeled as for professional services rendered in preparation for flight home, and as travel doctor for flight back to the Philippines etc., came from the joint account Bimb & I share…

“I asked Bimb’s permission before Alvin made the online fund transfers.

“Bimb did not hesitate—he said, ‘SURE Mama, it’s good we can help.’”

The “Alvin” Kris is referring to is his chief of staff, Alvin Gagui.

There is no confirmation from Dr. Mike about the amount Kris voluntarily helped him with.

KRIS’S MESSAGE TO DR. MIKE’S SON MIGUEL
After his lengthy explanation, Kris directly referred to Dr. Mike’s son, Miguel.

Kris has a disclaimer that this is just her version of the story between her and Dr. Mike.

But Kris’s response to Miguel’s alleged false allegations is well known.

“Please notice—I spoke only for myself, I cannot speak for Doc Mike.

“BUT I do accept and understand that I loved him much more than he was capable of loving me.

“Miguel, when I read what you wrote, instantly I reminded myself that the mother should not have cut off the child.

“Freedom of Speech should be upheld in a true DEMOCRACY.”

It is worth noting that Miguel made a request to Kris: “All we ask is that she does not spread stories that are untrue.”

“My father’s friends and patients know who he truly is, and they can attest to his character.”

Miguel firmly believes that his father loved Kris.

According to Kris, Miguel seems to be unaware of the entire incident between Kris and Dr. Mike.

Kris’ statement: “I only defended my factual truth, because right now for me it matters.

“And I refuse for my dad & mom plus my brother in heaven to be discussing: ‘What happened to Kristina? She was accused of lying and she just let it go? Where’s the girl who always fought in the name of honor?’

“I took the time to respond to your statements directly.

“I still hoped that you didn’t know everything.

“So your statements came from not having seen the entire picture.

“I have receipts BUT why will I, in proving your allegations wrong, make people see who really is telling the truth.

“I did promise to be Mama Kris come what may.”

It is unclear what Kris is saying is Miguel’s false allegation, other than Miguel’s assertion that Dr. Mike truly loved Kris.

Miguel also said on his Facebook on March 19 that Kris did provide “financial support” and “presents” to Dr. Mike, but that Kris gave them voluntarily and Dr. Mike did not ask for them.

Based on Kris’ story, she confirmed that Dr. Mike did visit her in the U.S. several times—which is consistent with Miguel’s statement that Dr. Mike visited the U.S. when the couple was still in a relationship.
