In a video she shared on her social media page, she gave an update on her condition, saying she was struggling to breathe due to lung inflammation.
She said:

“My lung surgery is done, but I suddenly had trouble breathing, so they brought me to the ICU. My lungs are inflamed, so they’re trying to manage it. The doctor gave me steroids for the inflammation. Please pray that I get through this trial.”

In one of her posts, Mercy admitted she had both lung and breast cancer. However, many were left wondering why—despite the surgery being reportedly successful—her condition still led to her sudden death.

This raised speculations on social media. Some netizens questioned whether there had been medical negligence in her treatment. But according to reports, the doctors did everything they could—unfortunately, Mercy’s body could no longer fight back.
