Actor Robin Padilla became the country’s top senator in the recent elections with the help of close friend Kris Aquino. In a Facebook post, Padilla thanked Kris for her crucial support in his senatorial campaign and offered to visit her soon in the United States to personally extend his gratitude.

Action star Robin Padilla took to social media to reveal the role of former reel partner Kris Aquino in winning senatorial bid by getting a huge number of votes during the recent election.

Describing their relationship as that of “friends in love”, senator-elect turned to social media to thank Kris Aquino for her support in the elections even saying his friendship with Aquino goes beyond politics.

“Friends in love. What does it mean? Is it literal? You are in love with your friend literally? I only know one thing. You may not see each other, you may not fight, you may not notice but ‘when you feel that your friend needs your friend, no sorrys, no explanations, no dramas, no flashbacks. Just love. Love that doesn’t require reciprocity,” he added. Padilla said after he and his wife Mariel Rodriguez learned about Aquino’s illness they stayed in touch with her.

“We never let go of her and so did Ms. Kris Aquino. Mariel cooks food for Kris and even though Kris has difficulty in eating solid food, she makes sure that Mariel is well appreciated by her entire family,” he said.

“The level of what we talk about and discuss has increased. We have opened each other up to the reality of politics and life,” he said.

“Many people ask and wonder why my votes are so high and how I came in number one. No one knows that I also have votes from the Aquino camp. In the middle of the campaign period, Kris was worried about my survey. She talked to me about my campaign strategy, I said I was just conventional because I had no money,” he sharedPadilla said Aquino insisted on helping him.

“He called powerful governors, LGU officials and high-ranking people with respect and deep gratitude for the Aquinos. It was never an issue for him that I was Uniteam, those he talked to wondered why I was being taken to them but he just answered them with pls help Robin for me,” he said.

“Thank you very much Ms. Kris Aquino. Our friendship was not affected by politics but rather it was what united us. We will never forget. Mariel and I are always here for you and when I get a visa to the US of A we will visit you and thank you personally.”
