NATIONAL SHOCK: Atong Ang and Gretchen Barretto NAMED AS MASTERMIND BEHIND THE DISAPPEARANCE OF OVER 30 COCKFIGHTERS! Was Their Kindness Just a Mask?

Manila – A massive bombshell is shaking the entire Philippines! The powerful gambling lord Atong Ang and showbiz icon Gretchen Barretto have been dragged into the terrifying case of more than 30 missing cockfighters (sabungeros).

According to explosive information from the Department of Justice (DOJ), both Atong Ang and Gretchen are now officially considered suspects following a shocking revelation from a key witness known only as “Alias Totoy.”

Alias Totoy, reportedly once close to the underground world, claimed that Atong Ang ordered the “elimination” of the sabungeros for undisclosed reasons. Even more frightening—he revealed text messages in which Atong begged for a secret meeting and even offered ₱50 million just to silence the witness!

“He said he was suffering and wanted to fix things. But when I didn’t agree, he offered – he wanted me dead for ₱50 million,” Totoy claimed, sending netizens into a frenzy.

The scandal escalated further when the DOJ confirmed that Gretchen Barretto—a famed actress and Atong’s longtime rumored partner—is also under investigation. Did she knowingly assist in covering up these sinister operations?

As the public reels in shock, multiple police officers tied to cockpits allegedly owned by Atong Ang have been named and are now under scrutiny. Some reports go as far as to suggest that the victims were brutally killed and their bodies dumped into Taal Lake.

Atong Ang’s camp, through high-profile lawyer Lorna Kapunan, has denied all accusations and announced plans to file countercharges. But Justice Secretary Boying Remulla was firm in his statement:
“There’s no escape. They are suspects. The truth will come out.”

Social media has erupted. While many are demanding justice for the missing sabungeros, others remain skeptical of Totoy’s motives. But one thing is certain: this drama is far from over. The names Atong Ang and Gretchen Barretto are now forever linked to one of the most explosive criminal mysteries in modern Philippine history.

Just recently, Atong Ang appeared in public—this came after he was implicated in the case of the missing cockfighters. Atong Ang faced the media visibly angry over the accusations made against him. Attorney Lorna Kapunan, legal counsel of the businessman Atong Ang, revealed that a certain “Alias Totoy” allegedly attempted to extort 300 million pesos from her client.

According to an exclusive interview with Shery Kusim on the program Una Sa Lahat, the supposed deal was in exchange for not linking Atong Ang to the controversial case of the missing cockfighters.

As Attorney Lorna stated:
“They say, ‘Why hasn’t he issued an affidavit?’ The truth is, he hasn’t issued an affidavit pointing to these alleged perpetrators because he is going around asking for money from those he threatens to name. That is why Mr. Atong Ang is coming forward—to bring out the truth.”

When asked how the alleged extortion happened and whether Atong Ang and Alias Totoy actually met, the lawyer responded:
“We have evidence. We will present it in due course, in the case we are about to file—text exchanges that confirm and affirm the extortion.”

The details of the evidence held by Atong’s camp have yet to be disclosed, but the lawyer assured that it will be presented in court at the appropriate time.

According to the same report, Attorney Lorna also contested the claim by the Department of Justice (DOJ) that Alias Totoy has the credibility to become a state witness.

As revealed by Shery in her interview, Alias Totoy allegedly has a criminal history—including previous charges of sexual harassment and three counts of murder, although he was released on bail. It was also mentioned that Alias Totoy reportedly had direct access to the cockfighters, which supposedly makes him the real suspect in their disappearance.

Earlier, Atong’s camp released an official statement through a social media post from GMA News, saying that they plan to file charges against Julie Dondon and Alan Bantiles (a.k.a. Alias Brown) this July 3 at the Office of the Mandaluyong City Prosecutor Arthur Magpantay.

The businessman also appealed to the public and the media to avoid spreading misinformation and to refrain from jumping to conclusions without sufficient evidence.

Meanwhile, although Atong Ang insists on his innocence, Justice Secretary Boying Remulla announced that businessman Atong Ang and actress Gretchen Barretto are now under investigation and considered suspects in the case of the missing cockfighters.
