“This story is very interesting. In fact, the information that reached me is very intriguing,” said a source. Aside from Alias Totoy, a new witness is said to be reaching out to the National Police Commission. According to initial information received by NAPOLCOM Vice Chairperson Atty. Rafael Kalinisan, this person also knows a lot about the case of the missing cockfighters.

“If some of them will volunteer to be state witnesses or have decided to tell all, then that would be a welcome development in the investigation. But even without their cooperation, we are confident we can still solve this case.”

The PNP also said it is prepared for a search and retrieval operation for the bodies of the missing cockfighters, which the Department of Justice may begin this week. Aside from Taal Lake, police have visited several other locations.

“There are other areas we’ve visited—not only around Laguna or Batangas but also other parts of the metro and nearby regions,” said Gen. Torre. “We’ll release more details later.”

According to General Torre, they want to start the operation as soon as possible, but they are also taking into account the weather and environmental conditions in the areas to be searched.
