My Husband Left Me for His Boss While I Was Pregnant — Then They Offered Me a House in Exchange for One of My Children
I was seven months pregnant with twins when I received a photo from my husband’s boss—Eric, lying on a bed with another woman. Just a few hours later came the most painful betrayal: he left me for her, and worse, they wanted to take one of my babies in exchange for housing. What they didn’t know was that I already had a plan.
I was busy folding tiny onesies, thinking about names for our children, when my phone buzzed.
My heart sank when I saw it was from Eric’s boss, Veronica. I thought something had happened to Eric at work, but the truth was far worse.
I opened the message, and there he was—Eric, lying on an unfamiliar bed, shirtless, grinning smugly.
If I had any doubts, they vanished when I read the caption: “It’s time you knew. He’s mine now.”
My hands turned cold. The babies inside me kicked hard as if they felt my sudden tension. Eric was cheating on me—with his boss.
I called him immediately, but it went straight to voicemail. Again and again, no answer.
I slowly sat down, holding my belly.
“Easy, my little ones,” I whispered. “Mommy will take care of you. No matter what happens, you won’t be abandoned—even if Daddy betrayed us.”
But I didn’t know worse was coming.
That night, Eric came home—with Veronica.
She walked in as if she owned the place—tall, elegant, obviously wealthy.
“Eric… what is this?” I asked, my voice trembling.
He sighed. “It’s simple, Lauren. I love Veronica, and I’m leaving you. I don’t want any drama.”
Each word felt like a punch.
“You can’t be serious,” I whispered. “I’m only two months away from giving birth.”
“That’s life,” he replied coldly.
Veronica cut in, arms crossed: “And since this apartment is in Eric’s name, you need to move out by the end of the week.”
My eyes widened. “I have nowhere to go! And I’m carrying his children!”
“Twins, right?” she said, her tone icy. “Or maybe triplets? You’re big. I can help you. I’ll give you a house—but in return, I want one of your babies.”
I could barely breathe. “What?!”
“I don’t want to go through pregnancy. And you can’t raise twins on your own. So this is a win-win.”
They were talking about my babies as if they were pets.
“I’ll raise the child in the best way—top nannies, best schools,” she said, stroking Eric’s arm.
And Eric nodded like it was the most natural thing.
I held myself back, knowing I had to think clearly.
So I pretended to give in. “I have nowhere to go. Fine, but I have one condition.”
Veronica smirked. “Smart. What is it?”
“I want to be the one to choose which child. And the house must be mine—not rented, but under my name.”
They exchanged a look, and Veronica nodded, convinced she had won.
But inside, I was smiling.
Months passed. They gave me a three-bedroom house in a quiet neighborhood. I kept pretending I was still deciding.
Until I gave birth—to two perfect baby girls.
When I came home from the hospital, I called them.
“I’m ready.”
They arrived immediately, Veronica beaming.
“Which one is mine?” she asked eagerly.
I looked her straight in the eye. “None.”
Her face froze. “What?”
“None of them are yours. And the house? It’s in my name. There’s nothing you can do.”
Veronica trembled with rage, while Eric turned pale as a ghost.
“And that’s not all,” I added. “I posted everything you did. Every message, every photo. Your company, your friends, your investors—they’ve all seen it.”
Veronica nearly dropped my phone as she read the posts.
Eric was fired, and Veronica was humiliated before the entire community.
And me? I held my daughters tight every night, safe in the house that was truly mine.
In the end, I didn’t just get revenge.
I won.
