Thang agreed immediately. My chose a delicate, elegant pink dress that suited her figure very well. When she showed it to her future mother-in-law, she smiled gently:

The wedding was set for a beautiful day. Thang’s mother prepared everything, from the engagement ceremony to the bride’s procession. That morning, the groom’s family set off on time. When they arrived at My’s house – a small villa in the suburbs – everyone was waiting for the bride to appear.
When the clock was almost noon, My appeared from the stairs. But no one expected her to wear an old white dress with stains instead of the pink dress as prepared. Everyone was shocked. Her mother immediately asked:
“What’s wrong with you? Where’s your dress? Why are you wearing this?”
My calmly replied:
“Don’t worry, Mom. I want to say a few things before I go to my husband’s house.”
At that moment, the groom’s party entered. When they saw the bride, Thang’s mother suddenly became dizzy and fell down, while Thang was stuttering and unable to speak. The whole groom’s family was silent because they did not understand what was happening. Thang trembled as he walked forward:
“Why are you wearing that dress… Who did you bring here…?”
A young girl stepped out from behind My – whose face looked very similar to an old acquaintance Thang had mentioned vaguely. My held the girl’s hand and said:
“This is the person who used to be with Mr. Thang. She no longer wants to be silent. Today, she came to regain her own honor.”
The girl tearfully shared, her eyes looking towards the groom’s family:
“I used to be attached to Mr. Thang. But when the incident happened, I had to quietly withdraw. I didn’t want to ruin the wedding. But today, I need an apology. And I hope everyone understands the past before moving on.”
The whole room fell silent. Thang knelt down, speechless. His mother could only hold her head. Finally, My’s parents stepped forward gently but firmly:
“We cannot marry our daughter off when our trust has been so severely damaged. Please let the groom go home.”
Although the groom’s family tried to explain, My’s family still maintained their decision. The door gradually closed.
My turned to hug the other girl:
“You are not alone anymore. We all deserve respect.”
The story seemed to be the sad ending of a wedding, but it opened a new page for truth and courage.
