Thanh Hoa police are investigating a murder case that shocked a village when a 13-year-old cousin murdered an 8-year-old girl, stuffed her in a sack, and dumped her in the corner of the garden.

On the afternoon of September 21, speaking with  Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper , a leader of the People’s Committee of Yen Dinh commune, Thanh Hoa province confirmed that an 8-year-old girl in the area was murdered by her cousin, stuffed in a sack and taken to the corner of the garden to dispose of the body.

According to this leader, the incident occurred on the afternoon of September 20, in the old Dinh Tang commune, now Yen Dinh commune, Thanh Hoa province. The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency has also stepped in to clarify the case.

“The murdered 8-year-old girl is the uncle’s child, and her older brother (in 8th grade; about 13-14 years old) is the uncle’s child. Yesterday (September 20), the girl’s parents went to harvest rice, so they took the girl to her brother’s house and left her with their 8th-grade nephew to look after. At home, the siblings had a conflict over a toy, which led to the above incident,” said the leader of Yen Dinh commune.

Regarding the information that after killing the girl, the cousin put her in a sack and hid her, the leader of Yen Dinh commune confirmed that this information is true.

“After the incident, the older brother put the body in a sack and hid it in the corner of the garden. When the body was discovered, the child admitted it. The police will have specific information about the identity and details of the incident,” said a representative of the Yen Dinh commune leadership.

Currently, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police Investigation Agency has entered the scene to examine, collect documents, investigate and determine the cause.
