Worked hard until 30 years old but still lived in a damp stilt house, got married at 68 years old and had money to build a villa right in front of him.

Working hard until I was 30, I still had to sleep in a damp stilt house behind a hill.
My life only really “got better” when I married a 68-year-old woman, rich, widowed, and extremely infatuated with young men.
Thanks to her, I was able to build  a 3-storey white villa with an elevator right in front of my parents’ house.

I proudly took people to my hometown to visit, pointing behind me:

“That’s my parents’ house. Simple but full of love.”
I still let them live in the old stilt house, because I said:
“They’re used to it, why bother renovating it?”
As for my wife, she listened to me.

Until one day…
My parents suddenly called my wife to the stilt house, saying they had something important to discuss.
For some reason, she tiptoed away. I was still lying there, scrolling through my phone.
Less than 15 minutes later, she came back in a panic,  threw a big black bag on the table, her face drained of blood.

I opened…  the land title. The villa transfer papers. The savings book in my name – all with a power of attorney to withdraw.
I was still mumbling, not understanding anything, when my mother came over and calmly said:

“Do you think I don’t know what your wife has been supporting you with? I was the one whose name was on this plot of land from the beginning. The day you sold it, I quietly photocopied the documents. In return, I didn’t say anything… to see if you would think about your family.”
“But for 3 years, your parents still sleep in a leaky stilt house. While you live in a villa, eating foie gras, lobster, and Korean ginseng.”

I was stunned.
My wife sat down on the ground, trembling:

“My uncle said… if I wanted to keep the villa, I should sign a commitment to give the assets back to my in-laws. I agreed, but I didn’t know he would actually do it.”

It turns out… that entire villa and the land belonged to my parents.
They kept the transfer papers, and  just signed to cancel my right to authorize the construction. The lawyer said: I am living on land… that is no longer mine.
