Taxi Driver Receives P35,000 From Vice Ganda For Transporting Him From Sagada to Baguio
The Kapamilya TV host Vice Ganda pays P35, 000 to the taxi driver who transported him from Sagada to Baguio.
A taxi driver named Gab gets the privilege of driving the famous Filipino comedian Vice Ganda and his crew to Sagada, a scenic town in the northern Philippines. The trip was part of his online show called “Gandara the Beksplorer”.
Gab was thrilled to meet Vice Ganda, but he did not expect that the TV host would ask him to become their personal driver for the whole trip. Vice and his team needed a reliable driver who could safely take them to Sagada, which was about six hours away from Baguio City.
The taxi driver happily agreed to the offer, but he did not tell his wife about it, as he wanted to surprise her with the news when he got back home.
During their trip, Gab and Vice Ganda had a chance to talk, and the driver shared with Vice that his son was ill and that his wife did not know that he was going to Sagada. “Wala po akong naiwan sa kanilang pera po ‘non eh, kaya ang sinabi ko po ay makihiram muna sa mga kamag-anak namin don,” Gab said.
The 46-year-old celebrity was touched by the driver’s story and realized that Gab had gone above and beyond to ensure their safe travel.
After arriving in Baguio City, Vice Ganda learned that the standard fare for their trip would be around P3,500, but he felt that Gab deserved more than that. The Pinoy actor generously gave him P35,000 as a reward for his excellent service and as a way to help him with his son’s medical expenses.
When Gab received the money, he was overwhelmed with emotions and could not hide his happiness. “Malaking malaking bagay po ito para sa anak ko,” the taxi driver said.
Vice Ganda and his team captured the moment on video, and it quickly went viral on social media.
The comedian also expressed his gratitude to Gab for being their driver and for taking care of them during their trip. He mentioned that Gab’s blessing was a big blessing for them, too, and that they were lucky to have him as their driver.
