Manila, Philippines – In what many are calling the latest bombshell in Philippine showbiz, shocking rumors are swirling that several properties of the late Superstar Nora Aunor have already been quietly sold—and none other than Chavit Singson is said to be the buyer!

Even more dramatic? Nora’s own son, Ian de Leon, is allegedly furious, claiming he was not informed nor consulted about the transactions involving his mother’s legacy.

The Alleged Sale: What Did Chavit Really Buy?

Sources close to the Singson camp have hinted that at least one of Nora Aunor’s prized Metro Manila properties has already changed hands. The property, described as “historic and sentimental,” was apparently sold quietly in a private agreement.

While there’s no official statement yet from Chavit Singson, his recent sightings at one of Nora’s former residences have fueled public speculation. Some even claim that renovations have already begun under new ownership.

Ian de Leon’s Alleged Reaction: “How could they sell without telling me?”

Insiders from the de Leon circle report that Ian was blindsided by the news.

“He thought everything was still being settled legally. He never imagined things would be sold so fast, especially to someone like Chavit,” said a family friend.

There are whispers that Ian is now consulting legal experts to understand how the properties were transferred and whether he or his siblings had any say in the matter.

His alleged statement to confidants:

“These are not just pieces of land. They’re pieces of our mother’s soul.”

Why Did the Sale Happen So Quickly?

Speculation is now rampant as to why Nora Aunor’s properties were sold so quickly after her passing. Some say it was due to financial pressures or debts, while others believe it’s part of an early estate liquidation by unnamed parties involved in managing her estate.

Fans and even former co-stars of Nora have begun questioning if this is how the legacy of the Superstar should be handled.

The Fans React: “Not Chavit, please!”

Social media has exploded with emotional posts from Nora’s loyal supporters, many of whom felt betrayed and devastated by the idea of her home—a symbol of her decades-long journey in showbiz—ending up in the hands of a politician.

Some comments read:

“That house was like a museum of her life. Selling it feels like erasing her.”

“Kung totoo man ito, sana inisip muna ang damdamin ni Ian at ng mga anak.”

“Chavit has everything. Leave Nora’s memory alone.”

What Happens Next?

As of now, no official statement has been released by Chavit Singson, Ian de Leon, or the estate of Nora Aunor. But if the rumors are true, this controversy could erupt into a high-profile legal and emotional battle—not just about property, but about how a national icon’s memory should be honored.

One thing’s certain: this isn’t the last we’ll hear of this story.

Ian De Leon, family, speaks out on cause of Nora Aunor’s death
The orphaned children of National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts and Superstar Nora Aunor, Ian, Lotlot, Matet, and Kenneth de Leon, addressed the media on Maundy Thursday, April 17, 2025, to issue a statement regarding the death of their mother on the night of Maundy Wednesday, April 16.

The confirmation of Ate Guy’s passing came from a Facebook post by her biological son Ian, who is also an actor, and their son with ex-husband Christopher De Leon.

Ian himself became the spokesperson for the family. He thanked all those who loved, believed in, and supported their Superstar mother.

She helped many. She loved many. Many admired her because of her unique talent. She changed many lives because of her kindness and authenticity, no pretense, no negatives shown,” he said.

“As long as she loved truly and that is what is so contagious that many people love her. We cannot avoid the events in life. God has plans, He has even better plans that we need to believe and have faith in Him.”

“To our family, on behalf of my siblings, my family, my children, and my wife, thank you very much to all of you,” he said.

After this, Ian read the confirmation of their mother’s passing. She passed away peacefully last night, April 16, surrounded by those who love her the most,” part of the statement said.

Ian was also curious if it was true that the cause of Ate Guy’s death was due to her surgery. It turned out that the veteran actress was confined to the hospital on April 10. On Holy Tuesday, April 15, the Superstar underwent angioplasty, something that was confirmed in a Facebook post by movie director and writer Ronaldo Carballo, who is still in shock over what happened because they were still talking on Facebook Messenger on Holy Monday, April 14.

Ian clarified that their mother did not die during the operation.

“She did not. She was being operated on, and after that, she had a hard time breathing, and eventually all things went downhill from there, and that’s why they had to do another procedure after that,” he said.

Meanwhile, based on the viewing and mass details released by Lotlot De Leon, on Tuesday next week after Holy Week, the National Artist will be taken to his final destination, to be laid to rest at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig.
