Manila, Philippines – Former senator Bam Aquino has finally broken his silence regarding the ongoing health battle of his cousin, Kris Aquino, and her son, Bimby. In a heartfelt interview, Bam revealed the profound impact Kris has had on his life — not just as a public figure, but as a family member who once made an unforgettable sacrifice for him.
“People only see the Queen of All Media,” Bam said softly.
“But behind the scenes, she’s always been the Queen of Family.”
A Quiet Sacrifice, A Lifelong Gratitude
According to Bam, there was a moment in his political career when everything seemed uncertain — funds were tight, attacks were everywhere, and morale was low. That’s when Kris stepped in quietly, without fanfare, offering help not for publicity but purely out of love.
“She didn’t tell anyone. She didn’t want credit. But she gave what she could, and she told me, ‘I believe in you. Just fight.’ That moment saved me more than she knows.”
On Kris’s Illness and Strength
Now that Kris is fighting for her life in the U.S. due to multiple autoimmune diseases, Bam says the pain of watching her struggle from afar is almost unbearable — but he holds on to faith.
“She’s one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. Even in pain, she thinks of Bimby, she prays for others, she checks in on me. That’s the kind of woman she is.”
He recalled a recent video call, during which Kris, visibly tired and thin, still managed to crack a joke and ask about his kids.
“Her smile is weaker now, but her love? It’s stronger than ever.”
Bam’s Words for Bimby
Bam also spoke directly about Bimby, Kris’s youngest son, who has been her rock during these trying times.
“To Bimby, if you ever read this — know that your mom is proud of you. The way you’re taking care of her, the way you stand beside her — you’re becoming the man she always hoped you’d be.”
He added:
“And if there’s anything I can do, I’m just here — like your mom was always there for me.”
A Family Built on Loyalty and Love
The Aquino family may be known for its political legacy, but Bam insists that at its core, their strength has always come from love — especially from the women in the family.
“Kris may be struggling with her health, but her spirit hasn’t changed. She still uplifts others. She still protects her loved ones, even when she needs protecting.”
Final Message
Bam ended the interview with a simple message — one that spoke volumes about family, faith, and the quiet power of those who give without asking anything in return.
“She once gave me strength when I had none. Now, all I can do is return that love — in prayer, in presence, and in never forgetting what she did.”
