Dionisia Pacquiao Boldly Reveals Manny Pacquiao’s Financial Struggles After Major Loss
General Santos City, Philippines — In a shocking and emotional revelation, Dionisia Pacquiao, the mother of legendary Filipino boxing icon and former senator Manny Pacquiao, has opened up about the severe financial challenges her son is reportedly facing after a major defeat in his boxing career.
Known for her colorful personality and unwavering support for her son throughout his decades-long boxing journey, Aling Dionisia did not hold back in a recent conversation with close family friends and members of the press. According to her, the aftermath of Manny’s retirement from boxing and his loss in the 2022 presidential race has taken a significant toll on his finances.
Aling Dionisia reportedly admitted that despite her son’s worldwide fame and multi-million dollar career earnings, his wealth has dramatically dwindled in recent years. “Hindi ko na kayang kimkimin pa. Ang totoo, halos ubos na ang pera ng anak ko,” she allegedly said during a private family gathering, according to someone present. (Translation: “I can no longer keep it inside. The truth is, my son’s money is almost gone.”)
She added that one of the main reasons for the financial strain is Manny’s generosity. “Masyado siyang mapagbigay. Hindi siya marunong tumanggi sa humihingi ng tulong,” she shared. For years, Pacquiao was known for giving away homes, cash, and support to thousands of Filipinos, especially in his hometown of General Santos and Sarangani Province.
Another factor, according to insiders, is the heavy spending on his political campaigns — particularly the 2022 presidential election, where he failed to secure enough votes. The campaign reportedly cost billions of pesos, draining much of his savings.
Family friends also noted that several of Manny’s businesses have either slowed down or closed due to poor management or economic downturns. Real estate investments, businesses abroad, and even some of his endorsement contracts have seen a decline in recent years.
Despite the difficult financial state, Aling Dionisia emphasized that she is not ashamed. “Hindi kami mahirap, pero malayo na sa dating yaman. Ang importante, buo ang pamilya,” she said. (Translation: “We are not poor, but we’re far from the wealth we once had. What’s important is that the family remains whole.”)
Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao has yet to release an official statement regarding these claims. However, those close to him say he remains positive and is focused on rebuilding his businesses and continuing his philanthropic work in the provinces.
Fans across the country have flooded social media with messages of support, urging the “People’s Champ” to keep his head held high, reminding him that his legacy is not only measured by wealth but by the millions of lives he has touched and inspired.
As of now, whether these financial woes are as dire as they seem remains unconfirmed — but one thing is certain: Aling Dionisia’s bold statements have sparked a conversation that many were not expecting.
Mommy Dionisia accepts Pacquiao’s loss to Ugas
MANILA – Dionisia Pacquiao accepted her son Sen. Manny Pacquiao’s loss in his final boxing match against Yordenis Ugás of Cuba this Sunday.
“I’m not sad that he lost, because no matter what… in this fight, win or lose, right? It’s not always a win,” Mommy D told reporters at her home in General Santos City.
(I’m not sad because in such a fight, there are winners and losers, right? It’s not always a win.)
The judges’ decision was unanimous in choosing Ugas to retain the WBA “super” welterweight title against Pacman. The fight was held Saturday night (Sunday noon in the Philippines) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The scorecards were in favor of Ugas: 115-113, 116-112, and 116-112. When asked if she would allow her son to fight again in boxing, Mommy D said, “He’s retiring. I told him, when he won that time, he’s retiring. He doesn’t want to retire… He probably would have retired if he lost. Now, he lost, he’s retiring.”
(He’s retiring. I told him when he won that he’d retire. He doesn’t want to… Maybe, then if he lost. Now that he lost, he’s retiring.)
While Mommy D watched her son’s fight with Ugas, she said it was proof that Pacman really has a match.
She didn’t want a rematch, and she said she would talk her son into retiring because of his age.
