Manila, Philippines – In a surprising turn of events, veteran actor-turned-senator Bong Revilla has broken his silence following his unexpected defeat in the 2025 senatorial elections, marking the end of his latest bid to return to the national political spotlight.

The 58-year-old politician addressed the media and his supporters through an emotional press conference held at the Revilla residence in Cavite. With a calm voice and misty eyes, Revilla expressed both gratitude and humility, acknowledging the decision of the Filipino people.

“The people have spoken, and I respect their voice. This is democracy in action, and I accept it with an open heart.”

A Political Blow to a Veteran Lawmaker

Revilla, who previously served multiple terms in the Senate, was widely expected to secure a top 12 spot, according to early surveys. However, the final tally revealed a different result, pushing him out of the senatorial lineup, much to the shock of his loyal supporters.

Analysts point to several factors that may have contributed to his loss — including lingering issues from past controversies, shifting voter priorities, and the rise of younger, reform-driven candidates who appealed to a new generation of voters.

Revilla on Moving Forward: “This Is Not the End”

Despite the setback, Revilla made it clear that his commitment to public service remains unshaken.

“This is not the end of my journey. I may not be in the Senate this time, but my heart will always beat for the Filipino people. I will find other ways to help and serve.”

He also expressed his congratulations to the newly elected senators, calling for unity and support for the country’s democratic institutions.

“Let us not dwell on defeat. Let us move forward. Our country needs healing, not division.”

Supporters React: “You Will Always Be Our Senator”

Revilla’s statement sparked a wave of emotional responses online, with fans and longtime supporters posting messages of encouragement:

“He lost the election, but not our respect.”

“Still our idol, still our senator in our hearts!”

“Bong, tuloy pa rin ang laban!”

Meanwhile, critics were quick to remind the public of his past legal battles, which may have influenced voters’ decisions.

What’s Next for Bong Revilla?

When asked about his plans after the elections, Revilla hinted at returning to showbiz, a move that many believe could reignite his connection with the masses.

“We’ll see,” he smiled. “I’ve always loved acting. It might be time to go back.”

Whether in politics or entertainment, one thing remains clear — Bong Revilla’s name continues to resonate, and his next move will be closely watched by supporters and critics alike.

Bong Revilla after failing to win the 2025 Election: ‘Let’s move forward for the people’
In a video post on Facebook, outgoing senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., announced that he is feeling well, and that he has accepted the results of the just-concluded 2025 Election that he failed to be re-elected for his second term.

“Hello and good afternoon, everyone. We are here now at the farm, I am okay,” Bong began in the video. “That’s true, but I would like to congratulate all the winning friends of mine.”

He referred to the 12 senators who made it into the magic 12 consisting of Bong Go, Bam Aquino, Bato dela Rosa, Erwin Tulfo, Kiko Pangilinan, Rodante Marcoleta, Ping Lacson, Tito Sotto, Pia Cayetano, Camille Villar, Lito Lapid, and Imee Marcos.

Bong, a re-electionist senator, is in 14th place for another six-year term.

The actor thanked those who voted and trusted him, who numbered around 12 million.

“Although we are not lucky, that is okay. The important thing now is to unite for the people. Let’s solve the real problems of the people. Hopefully, we will unite and make peace,” he encouraged.

“Whatever happened, let’s accept it. The important thing is that we are happy. Enough has been done, let’s move forward for the people, for the country. Everyone has spoken, we should listen. The important thing is, let’s love the Philippines,” he added.

Bong also said that he will continue to help as much as he can. He also said that he does not harbor any resentment, and he knows that God has other plans for him. “Maybe to spend more time with my family, my grandson. Let’s take care of my grandson first, rest,” he said happily. “I love you.”

Although he was not lucky enough to win, other relatives of his did win in the recent elections. Among them are his wife Lani Mercado who is the winning congressman in the second district of Cavite, and his son Jolo Revilla in the first district.

Bong’s other son, Ram, will be the vice governor of Cavite. While his brother, Strike Revilla, is still the mayor of Bacoor.
