In a shocking twist that has stunned both fans and the entertainment industry, Luis Manzano is reportedly preparing to file a cyber libel case against social media personality Jinky Sta. Isabel after a series of intense online exchanges and damaging accusations.

The Online Controversy That Sparked Legal Action

It all started when Jinky Sta. Isabel, known for her no-holds-barred commentary online, allegedly posted a series of statements and videos targeting Luis Manzano. The content reportedly included malicious claims involving Manzano’s personal life, finances, and even his relationship with certain personalities in the industry.

Sources close to Manzano revealed that the actor-TV host was initially reluctant to respond publicly, hoping the issue would die down. However, the relentless nature of the attacks, paired with what his camp described as “defamatory and false information,” reportedly pushed him to take legal action.

“Luis has always been respectful and professional, but there is a line. When that line is crossed—especially with false statements that can damage not just his reputation but also his family—it becomes necessary to fight back through proper legal channels,” said one insider close to the Manzano camp.

Cyber Libel: A Serious Allegation

Under the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 in the Philippines, cyber libel is a criminal offense that carries a heavier penalty than ordinary libel due to the public reach of online platforms. If found guilty, the accused may face a prison term of up to eight years, along with possible fines and damages.

According to early reports, Manzano’s legal team is already preparing documents and gathering digital evidence, including screenshots, video links, and timestamps from Jinky’s content.

Jinky Sta. Isabel Responds

Jinky Sta. Isabel has since reacted to the news via a live stream on her page, denying any wrongdoing and asserting that her posts were “based on public knowledge and opinion.” She also called out what she described as an attempt to silence social media voices, adding:

“So now we can’t say our opinions anymore? Is Luis that sensitive? Let him sue. I’m not scared. The truth will always come out.”

Her response has only fueled more online drama, with supporters on both sides clashing across social media platforms.

Public Reaction

The news has quickly gone viral, with netizens expressing mixed opinions. Some are siding with Luis, saying it’s about time celebrities take a stand against cyberbullying. Others, however, argue that public figures should be open to criticism and that legal threats set a dangerous precedent for free speech.

“Luis has every right to protect himself, especially if the claims are untrue.”
“This is a slippery slope. Are we not allowed to comment on celebrities anymore?”

What’s Next?

Legal experts suggest that if Luis Manzano proceeds with the case, it could become a landmark cyber libel battle in local showbiz history—one that could define the limits of online speech in the entertainment space.

For now, all eyes are on Luis and his legal team as they finalize their next steps. Meanwhile, Jinky continues to post regularly, seemingly unshaken.

Luis Manzano seeks NBI help; implicated in company anomaly
Kapamilya TV host-actor Luis Manzano has reportedly had nothing to do with any anomaly involving the “Flex Fuel Petroleum Corporation,” according to his lawyer, Atty. Regidor Caringal.

According to a report by the Philippine Entertainment Portal or PEP, Manzano has reportedly sent a letter to the National Bureau of Investigations or NBI through Atty. Caringal, asking for help in investigating the said company managed by one Ildefonso “Bong” Medel.

The TV host-actor allegedly said that Medel, his business partner, owes him millions. The company’s investors have come forward and asked for help in recovering their investment in the aforementioned fuel company.

According to Luis’ affidavit on December 21, 2022, he was allegedly appointed by Medel as chairman of the board of his companies as “one of the guarantees for my investment.” However, Luis insisted, “I never took part in the management of the business.”

Because of this, Luis resigned from his position and moved away from the said company, especially since he learned that his partners were keeping many secrets from him about the company.

Currently, Medel has still not taken any action or responded to their call to return the money they invested in the aforementioned fuel company.
