Sta. Maria, Bulacan — A tragic and deeply disturbing development has emerged in the heartbreaking case that shook the nation: CCTV footage has surfaced allegedly showing a mother intentionally setting the fire that claimed the lives of her three young children inside their home.

The incident, originally believed to be a tragic accident, has now taken a shocking and horrifying turn as investigators reveal the possibility of arson committed by the children’s own mother.

THE HORRIFIC FOOTAGE: A MOTHER CAUGHT ON CAMERA

According to authorities, surveillance footage from a nearby barangay outpost captured the mother leaving the house moments after suspicious smoke began to rise from within the residence. Investigators, upon reviewing the video, stated that the footage shows the woman carrying what appears to be a container, believed to be filled with a flammable liquid, before the fire erupted.

Shortly after, flames were seen engulfing the home as neighbors rushed in a panic. Tragically, by the time help arrived, the children — aged 2, 4, and 6 — were already trapped inside and could not be saved.

THE FATHER’S HEARTBREAK: “HINDI KO MATANGGAP!”

The father of the children, reportedly separated from the mother for some time, arrived at the scene in hysterics upon learning of their deaths. Witnesses describe him collapsing in grief, shouting and crying uncontrollably:

“Mga anak ko! Hindi ko matanggap! Bakit mo nagawa ‘to sa kanila?” he screamed, reportedly directing his cries toward the mother who was already in police custody.

His pain has struck a chord with many, with netizens flooding social media with messages of sympathy and outrage.

MOTHER NOW IN CUSTODY, UNDERGOING PSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATION

Authorities have since taken the mother into custody. As of now, no official motive has been declared, but police are not ruling out postpartum mental illness or psychological breakdown. She remains under psychiatric observation, while charges of parricide and arson are being prepared against her.

“This is one of the most horrific crimes we’ve ever investigated,” said one officer from the Sta. Maria Police. “We are working carefully to ensure justice is served.”

COMMUNITY IN DEEP SHOCK

The entire community is in mourning, but also in disbelief. Neighbors who once saw the woman calmly walking her children to a nearby store now struggle to reconcile her image with the unimaginable horror caught on camera.

A candlelight vigil was held the night after the footage surfaced. “We didn’t expect this kind of evil,” one neighbor said. “We are all grieving — especially for the innocent lives lost.”

CCTV footage on Pekini Street, Tbilisi shows the 51-year-old walking towards a couple with two young children.

When he approached, the suspect slashed the boy’s face, who was being held by the mother.

The father quickly dodged and protected their daughter, who was about to be stabbed by the suspect.

The father tried to stop the suspect from leaving, but he backed away when he pointed the knife at him.

An ambulance arrived and took the boy to the hospital, where he was treated for cuts to his nose and cheek.

The suspect managed to escape, but was caught by police the next morning.

According to the children’s parents, they did not know him and had only seen the suspect that day.

The suspect also reportedly did not admit to the police his true motive for the stabbing.

The suspect faces 10 years in prison.
