Entertainment writer and radio host Gorgy Rula caught up with Mane via Zoom conference and she shared what happened to her father early this year.

Looking back, the Kapuso star said, “It happened in January, January 29, but thank God there are friends like my colleagues, not just at Pepito, but our friends who really sympathized, showed their sympathy,

“Prayers–very important. He just had a little bit of a hard time, because that’s true because of the pandemic.

“We had to go home and we were hesitant to go home, because that was the real reason, we really should have gone home.

“It’s just a little sad because besides losing him, I’m sorry, I didn’t really touch him [or] hug him…”

Manilyn paused for a moment and burst into tears, still feeling the loss of her Daddy Nelson. She continued that she understood the feelings of our countrymen now that there is a pandemic where they can’t even be with their loved ones, also because of the risk of being hit by COVID-19 in the hospital.

She said, “We know what people are going through, thinking that Daddy’s was not COVID, right? We are also for the people who lost their loved ones to COVID, right?

“How much more, right, that you can’t really be there? We were there, right next to us, but we couldn’t touch him, hug him, because we were also scared, right—you’re in the hospital, right?”
