Govinda’s nephew and popular Bhojpuri actor, Vinay Anand, recently shared his views on the divorce rumours of the actor and his wife, Sunita Ahuja.

Govinda, also known as the ‘Hero no.1’ in Bollywood, has won hearts with his impressive acting performance, smooth dance movies and unmatched comic timings. He entertained audiences in the ’80s and ’90s with films like Dulhe Raja, Coolie No.1, Deewana Mastana, Raja Babu and more. Since fans admire him, everyone was left shocked as the speculations about his divorce from Sunita Ahuja after 37 years of their marriage recently made headlines. Although there has been no confirmation, Govinda’s nephew, Vinay Anand, has now shared his views.

Vinay Anand says he doesn’t feel Govinda and Sunita Ahuja will part ways

Vinay Anand recently sat down with Etimes and shared his views on Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s divorce rumours. He stated that he can not comment on their marriage and would stay away from his uncle, Govinda’s personal matters. However, he doesn’t believe that any such thing would take place. In his words:

“I don’t know anything regarding their personal life, and I don’t think I should comment on this. Something like this should not happen—I pray to God. Nobody in the family has discussed this with me, so I don’t want to say anything about the marriage of Govinda Ji and Sunita Ji. They both are adult enough to decide whatever they feel. Baki filhal aisa kuch hoga, aisa lagta to nahi hai.”

Govinda’s other nephew, Krushna Abhishek, also reacted to the chatter around Govinda’s divorce in a conversation with HT City and brushed it off as a mere rumour. At the same time, his wife, Kashmera, was left shocked over the news in conversation with News 18 and maintained that she has no information about their personal life. However, she believes it’s a ‘horrible rumour.’

Govinda react’s to his ongoing divorce rumour

Since Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s separation rumours made headlines on February, 26, 2025, and everyone was left concerned about the couple. As per a source of ETimes, Sunita sent a separation notice to the actor a few months ago, but no new update about the case came up. When the media portal contacted Govinda to inquire about these reports, he simply stated that he was working on his comeback in films and did not comment on his personal life. He said:

“These are only business talks going on… I am in the process of starting my films.”

The same news portal contacted Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, about the matter. He confirmed there had been issues between the couple over certain statements made by the family. However, the Dulhe Raja actor is more focused on his career, and they are trying to resolve the differences. He said:

“There have been issues between the couple due to certain statements made by certain family members. There is nothing more to it. Govinda is focused on launching his film, and artists are visiting our office to do so. We are trying to resolve it.”
