Another powerful voice in showbiz has spoken—Hilda Koronel, one of the most respected actresses of her generation, could no longer hold back her emotions and revealed a revelation regarding the sudden passing of the country’s so-called Superstar, Nora Aunor.
In an interview that immediately went viral, Hilda recounted how deep her bond with Ate Guy was, not only as rivals in the movies but as true friends behind the camera. She said, “No one can match what Nora gave to the industry. But more than that, as a friend… Nora left a gap that will never end in my heart.”
According to Hilda, the most painful thing of all was that they did not meet again before the superstar passed away. “We had a plan to meet and say hello,” she said, “but it didn’t work out. I never thought that would be the last time.” Fans’ emotions were further heightened when Hilda revealed that Nora left a message for her friends and fans, a simple reminder of love and gratitude.
Hilda also couldn’t avoid revealing some details about Nora’s final days. According to her, “I know Guy tries to be strong for everyone. But he fights quietly. He doesn’t like to show weakness. He’s a true warrior in life.”
Her statement was followed by an emotional outpouring of support from fans who were further hurt by the loss of a legend. Many commented that Hilda’s statement seemed to shed light on the Superstar’s silence in her final months—who, despite what she was carrying, chose to keep her mouth shut and continue her fight in a quiet manner.
As the outpouring of emotions from friends, fellow artists, and fans continues, one thing is clear—Nora Aunor’s memory will remain not only in the history of Philippine cinema but in the hearts of every Filipino. And the words uttered by Hilda Koronel served as a reminder of how true heroism is not only measured by the number of trophies, but by the number of hearts touched.
Her revelation is not just a story of grief—it is also a story of true friendship, respect, and unparalleled love for a Superstar we once shared on the stage of our culture.
Nora Aunor was excited to shoot film with Hilda Koronel, Director shares
MANILA — Director Adolfo Alix Jr. shared Saturday that the late National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor had been looking forward to the movie they were set to shoot with Hilda Koronel.
“I hope they are excited so he is strengthening because he is excited,” Alix said in an interview held during the wake of Aunor, Saturday.
“We were suppose to do a film this June. We were pre-planning everything and we talked to other actors,” he added Alix explained Aunor was focusing on improving her health prior to the shoot.
Alix directed “Mananambal,” the last locally released film in which Ate Guy made an appearance. The filmmaker, however, hopes to soon screen “Kontrabida” in the country as a fitting tribute to the Philippines’ superstar.
“Here in the film you can see Ate Guy in her best form. She is beautiful to watch. This is my personal favorite because it is her first villain role. She is beautiful for people to remember and see how great she was,” he reasoned.
“Kontrabida” (The Villain) was named the Best Asian Feature in the Hanoi International Film Festival in 2022.
