Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla bluntly asserted that the alleged mastermind behind the disappearance of the missing sabangeros who were believed to have been thrown into Taal Lake is powerful.

In a media interview with Remulla on Thursday, June 26, 2025, he asserted that the mastermind behind the said crime is powerful, even some government employees could be bribed.

“The enemy here is the money, it can even enter the judiciary—and that is one thing that we might have to talk to the Chief Justice about that, because the money of e-sabong is heavy, it is not just any enemy,” Remulla said.

Remulla added that even the Supreme Court (SC) can be swayed by the alleged suspect of the witness alias “Totoy.” As for the alleged mastermind, in his own words, even the SC can. “That’s why we need to talk to the Chief Justice,” said the DOJ Secretary.

It can be recalled that alias Totoy is the latest whistleblower who revealed the alleged fate of 34 missing drug lords, including several drug lords who were allegedly killed by unnamed suspects, including several members of the Philippine National Police (PNP).
