Veteran actor John Estrada recently expressed his full support for his longtime friend and popular television personality Willie Revillame, who is now running for senator in the upcoming elections. In a post on social media on Thursday, May 8, John gave a deeper explanation behind his vote, emphasizing that it was not just because of their personal relationship.

According to John, his decision was based not on their friendship but on Willie’s character and his genuine concern for fellow Filipinos, especially the poor.

He said, “Companions, I will vote for this man, not because he is my friend and I love this man, but because I know how much he loves you, especially the poor.”

In his post, John also shared some concrete examples of Willie’s generosity, particularly during times of disaster and calamity. One of the things he highlighted was Willie’s generosity in providing assistance to those in need using his own income. He said he does not do this for praise or to gain fame, but because he truly intends to help.

“A certain WILLIE REVILLAME has proven that if there is a disaster in the country, he will give millions out of his own pocket that he has worked hard for,” said John.

John added that Willie is one of the few personalities who does not only help in front of the camera. He said that he does many good deeds that are not reported or posted on social media. From providing livelihood, education, to immediate financial assistance to disaster victims, his contribution to society cannot be underestimated, even if he is not yet in a government position.

John also shared that if a person has a heart for service even if he is not yet in government, he can do more when given a bigger platform, such as becoming a senator. In his belief, if Willie is given the opportunity, he will be able to continue and expand the projects he has started for the benefit of the majority.

“What we need now are people who truly care, not just in words but in deeds. Willie, he doesn’t need to prove his intentions. He has shown that for years,” the actor added.
