Lotlot de Leon, the daughter of veteran actress Nora Aunor, recently made headlines after responding to a fan’s comment about a post she shared regarding her legendary mother, Nora Aunor. The post sparked mixed reactions from fans, especially those loyal to the Superstar, leading to a moment of tension in the comment section. However, Lotlot quickly clarified her stance and set the record straight.

The Post That Started It All

In her recent social media post, Lotlot shared a heartfelt message about Nora Aunor, reflecting on her mother’s career and legacy as an actress, as well as the recent challenges the Superstar has faced. Lotlot’s words were genuine, filled with both admiration and a sense of longing, but it didn’t take long before a comment from a fan caught her attention.

The fan’s comment was directed at Lotlot, questioning her intentions behind the post. The comment seemed to imply that Lotlot may have been using her mother’s name for attention, which led to a back-and-forth exchange in the comments section.

Lotlot’s Response: A Statement of Love and Truth

Rather than letting the comment slide, Lotlot de Leon took to the post to directly respond to the fan, saying, “I understand that some of you might have misconceptions, but let me set the record straight. What I shared was a reflection of my love for my mother, not for attention. I don’t need to use her name for anything—she’s my mother, and I’m proud of her no matter what.”

She continued, “I respect the opinions of all fans, but please understand that the things I share are from my heart. I don’t post things just to create drama or stir things up. My love for my mother is something deeply personal and I don’t appreciate when others question that.”

Fans’ Reactions: Support and Understanding

As expected, Lotlot’s response quickly garnered the support of many of her followers. Some fans praised her for defending her mother and maintaining her dignity despite the negativity. Others expressed their understanding, acknowledging how challenging it must be to navigate such a public relationship.

One fan commented, “Lotlot, your love for your mom is so obvious. Don’t mind the haters. They just don’t understand what you’re going through.”

Another wrote, “You’re doing the right thing, Lotlot. Keep sharing your truth and your love for your mom. Nora Aunor is a legend, and you’re doing her proud.”

A Legacy of Love and Challenges

Nora Aunor, often called the “Superstar” of Philippine cinema, has been a central figure in the lives of many Filipinos, and her legacy continues to inspire new generations. However, her personal life, especially her relationship with her family, has been the subject of public scrutiny for years. Lotlot de Leon, who has always been supportive of her mother, has been through the highs and lows of her mother’s career and personal life.

In a world where public figures are often scrutinized, Lotlot’s candidness and honesty in addressing this issue were refreshing to her fans. Her response to the fan’s comment was not just a defense of her mother, but also a declaration of her own values and the importance of family, love, and respect.

Nora Aunor’s last message to Lotlot de Leon: ‘Don’t worry about me, son, I can do it’
Ian and Lotlot de Leon shared their last messages or conversations before their mother, Nora Aunor, passed away.

In Monday’s episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” held at Heritage Park in Taguig where the Superstar is buried, Ian shared their mother’s message about the veteran actress’s continued love for her children and grandchildren.

“Lord, wherever my children go, please hold them, protect them from all dangers and always bring them home safely,” Nora’s message was read by Ian from his cellphone.

Ian responded to this with, “I love you ma.”

Nora also conveyed in the message that her children and grandchildren should be careful.

“’Always be careful, especially the children. I’m sorry that mommy isn’t there when you need me. May you always be guided. How are the grandchildren? Just kiss and hug them for me. Please. Thank you, may you always be careful. God bless,’” Ian continued reading.

Lotlot said that his mother calmed him down because he was pestering the doctors to find out about Nora’s condition.

“The last time we talked, Tito Boy, I had a doctor calling, pestering him, that I was getting angry, ‘Include us. Because we are the children. Include us in what is happening so that if there is anything we can do to help, we can also do something,’” Lotlot said.

His mother assured him that his condition was fine.

“She said, ‘Son, I’m OK. The doctor told me you wanted to talk to him. ‘Don’t worry about me, son, I can do it.’ And then she said, ‘Just my grandchildren, I’m so proud of them. I love you so much. I love you and your siblings so much,’” Lotlot shared.

As an obedient child, Lotlot said that she followed her mother’s orders.

“So when we talked last time, I said, ‘Okay Ma, I respect your wishes.’ Because I didn’t want her to get mad at us. Because she knows I’m naughty. I tease her doctors. I tease whoever needs to be teased to find out what’s going on with her,” the actress continued. Veteran actress and National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora passed away on April 16 at the age of 71, due to acute respiratory failure, according to Ian.

A state necrological service will be held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila on Tuesday, April 22, in honor of his National Artist status.

This will be followed by his final resting place at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
