“Lotlot de Leon Breaks Her Silence: Grief, Anger, and the Truth Behind Nora Aunor’s Death”

The death of National Artist and beloved screen legend Nora Aunor has left a void in the hearts of millions—but for her daughter Lotlot de Leon, the pain runs far deeper than public mourning. In an emotional and unfiltered statement, Lotlot revealed the complex emotions she’s grappling with: grief, anger, frustration, and a fierce determination to uphold her mother’s legacy.

Nora Aunor passed away on April 16, 2025, after a quiet battle with an undisclosed illness. Though the family initially requested privacy, Lotlot has now come forward, sharing a detailed and heartfelt account of her final days with her mother—and the behind-the-scenes tensions that left her “deeply hurt and betrayed.”

“I am grieving, yes. But I am also angry,” Lotlot said in a statement that has since gone viral. “There are people who claim they were there for my Nanay, but where were they when she needed them most?”

According to Lotlot, Nora had become increasingly isolated in her final months. Some close to the family allegedly took control of decisions related to her care and legacy, leaving Lotlot and her siblings feeling sidelined. There were reports of heated arguments about access to Nora’s hospital room and disputes over her final will and testament. While Lotlot did not name individuals, she hinted that not all members of their circle had Nora’s best interest at heart.

“The truth must come out,” Lotlot insisted. “My mother was more than a national treasure—she was a mother who deserved peace, honesty, and respect in her last days.”

The funeral services, while dignified and attended by thousands of grieving fans, were also emotionally charged. Videos showed Lotlot breaking down in tears as “Paano Kita Mapasasalamatan,” one of Nora’s most iconic songs, played during the memorial. “That song was her soul,” Lotlot later said. “Hearing it made everything real. She’s really gone.”

Adding fuel to the fire is the brewing controversy around Nora Aunor’s final will. Sources close to the family allege that key changes were made shortly before her death—changes that Lotlot was not aware of until the reading. Some insiders claim certain assets were redirected unexpectedly, leaving longtime family members shocked and confused. Lotlot has not confirmed whether legal action will follow, but her public statements suggest that this is not the end of the story.

Despite her heartbreak, Lotlot says she is determined to fight for her mother’s memory—and to ensure that her legacy is preserved with dignity.

“My Nanay gave her whole life to this country,” Lotlot said. “It’s my turn to protect what she left behind.”

As fans continue to mourn, Lotlot de Leon’s candid revelations are sparking national conversations—not just about family, fame, and fortune—but about how we care for our artists in their final days

Lotlot de Leon reconciles with Nora Aunor, looks after sick mother
Multi-awarded actress and so-called Superstar of showbiz Nora Aunor is ill. This is the reason why she was unable to make it to Malacanang Palace on June 16 to receive the plaque of recognition as National Artist for Film.

The doctor reportedly did not allow Nora to attend the conferment due to her illness, so her four children, Ian, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth, acted as proxies here to receive the plaque.

Lotlot was also unable to be with her four siblings because they were the ones who were looking after their mother.

“We will deliver her plaque to mommy right away. To the fans, thank you so much for your endless love for our mommy. Thank you, thank you so much. We love you,” Matet said in an interview the day they received the plaque for their mother.

Those close to Ate Guy have not given any details about his illness. There is also no statement on how Lotlot and Ate Guy reconciled, as they had a long-standing feud that is said to have stemmed from the Superstar’s relationship with rapper-singer John Rendez.

Lotlot, Matet, Kiko and Kenneth are not Nora’s biological children. Besides, only Ian de Leon came from Nora’s womb, which was the result of her marriage to Christopher de Leon.

According to Lotlot in his previous interview, he did not feel that he was adopted from the very beginning and even though the Superstar confessed to him about it.

“I have always accepted that I was adopted because I didn’t feel… Mommy didn’t treat me differently from how she treated Ian.

“Even my dad, Daddy Boyet, he never treated me less than he treated Ian. I guess, the way they loved Ian, that’s how I felt their love for me. So I didn’t feel different from my brother,” he said.

Ate Guy also gave him the opportunity to meet his biological parents.

Anyway, there will be a tribute for Nora Aunor and the other newly appointed National Artists at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) on June 29 and the Superstar is expected to attend.
