Contributing money to buy a house but the husband secretly transferred the title to his mother, the wife did this, making the whole family of the husband stunned

The morning sunlight shone through the window of the small room where Angela, 29 years old, was sitting curled up in a blanket. The girl with a gentle appearance and sad eyes was remembering the happy days of the past. After 5 years of being in love, Angela and Marco finally decided to buy a new apartment in Quezon City to prepare for married life.

Angela contributed half of the money to buy the apartment, which was all her savings after many years of hard work. Marco promised that the apartment would be under both husband and wife’s names – a testament to love and trust. Angela had absolute trust in Marco. He was her first love, the person she believed she would spend the rest of her life with.

The new apartment was located in a quiet residential area, with a large balcony overlooking the city of Manila. Angela spent hours coming up with interior design ideas, dreaming of a beautiful little home. Every night after work, she and Marco would go to the apartment, discuss and imagine the future.

Marco, a handsome and skillful 30-year-old man, always appeared thoughtful and sweet. But sometimes, Angela felt uneasy when Marco avoided questions related to finances.

Marco’s mother – Mrs. Rosario – a woman who had a great influence on her son, often interfered in everything. She often hinted:
– “Angela, women should not get involved in money matters. The house should be owned by Marco or by you, for safety.”

Angela still trusted Marco. She smiled and replied:
– “Marco and I have discussed it. It will be owned by both husband and wife.”

Mrs. Rosario just raised her eyebrows, remained silent, and looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze.

The shock at the notary office

The day of the notary came, Angela was filled with joy. But when the papers were presented, she was stunned: the owners were not Angela and Marco, but… Rosario.

Angela’s whole body turned cold.

“Marco… What is this?” she asked, trembling.

Marco avoided her gaze and cleared his throat:

“Ah… your mother said to put it in her name to be safe. There will be no disputes later.”

Angela was stunned. She had contributed half of the money, but he had secretly transferred it to her mother. And he even said “no disputes”? That meant that from the very beginning, Marco had thought about… betraying her?

Angela did not get angry, nor did she scream. She just kept silent. That silence was more terrifying than any words.

Decisive decision

Angela did not return to the new apartment, nor did she return to Marco’s house. She went straight to her biological mother’s house – Mrs. Dolores – in Cavite. Hearing her daughter’s story, Dolores hugged her, heartbroken but determined:

“My child, if you have lost faith, do not force yourself. Choose the path of keeping your dignity.”

Angela nodded, tears falling.
– “Mom… I want to cancel the engagement.”

The silence stunned her husband

Marco tried every way to call, even went to Dolores’ house to ask to meet. But Angela did not answer. He tried to explain, to hold on, but to no avail. Angela had completely lost faith.

Marco did not expect Angela to be so decisive. He thought she would scream, to argue. But no. She chose cold silence – and that was what scared him.

Expensive lesson

The annulment procedure was quick. Angela did not ask for property, did not sue. She just wanted to escape this fake marriage.

After that, Angela started over: going to work, taking care of her mother, traveling, learning more skills. She realized that happiness does not come from a luxury apartment or a handsome man, but from respect, trust and sincere love.

Marco lived in regret. He lost Angela – the woman who loved him with all her heart. Rosario, the mother who had been so coercive, finally realized that it was her interference that had left her son alone.

Angela no longer held any resentment. She only felt regret for a love that had been ruined by a lack of trust. But more importantly, she had matured, understanding the value of dignity and self-respect.

Angela’s story becomes a warning to many Filipino women: A man who doesn’t trust you, even if he is your husband, is not worth living another day with.
