A Lifetime of Health Struggles — and Another Storm Arrives

Gary V has always been open about his health challenges, especially his decades-long battle with Type 1 diabetes, and his life-threatening open-heart surgery in 2018 followed by a kidney cancer scare.

Now, reports have surfaced that the 59-year-old performer has been diagnosed with a new, rare complication affecting his nervous system — a condition that reportedly causes sudden fatigue, muscle weakness, and episodes of numbness.

Doctors are still running confirmatory tests, but initial findings have prompted serious concern.

“The symptoms appeared gradually — tiredness after small movements, tingling in his arms,” a medical insider shared. “We hoped it was just stress. But it’s more serious than that.”

Family in Tears: “Why Him Again?”

According to a trusted source, Gary’s wife, Angeli Pangilinan-Valenciano, broke down in tears upon hearing the doctor’s initial findings.

“She cried. Not in front of Gary, but when she was alone,” the insider said. “She kept asking, ‘Why him again? Hasn’t he suffered enough?’”

Their children, especially Gab Valenciano, have also reportedly cancelled engagements to be with their father.

“Gary has always been the strong one. Seeing him tired, in pain, struggling to speak—it breaks everyone’s heart,” a relative revealed.

Still Fighting with Faith: “The Lord Will Carry Me”

Despite the latest setback, Gary remains resilient and faithful.

In a recent private message to his friends, he reportedly said:

“This is just another chapter. My body may weaken, but my faith remains unshaken. The Lord will carry me through this.”

His fans, friends, and colleagues know him not just for his energy on stage, but for his deep spirituality and unwavering trust in God — even when facing life-threatening trials.

“Gary doesn’t fear sickness,” a friend shared. “He fears not being able to fulfill his purpose.”

Gab Valenciano shared photos and clips of himself in the hospital recently diagnosed with prediabetes.

Gab, 33, is the son of veteran entertainer Gary Valenciano.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), prediabetes is a serious health condition in which blood sugar levels are high but not yet classified as type 2 diabetes.

However, people with prediabetes are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.

Its symptoms include being overweight and being 45 years old and above and having a parent or sibling with type 2 diabetes.

It is no secret that Gab’s father, Gary V., has also battled type 1 juvenile diabetes since he was just 14 years old.

It can be recalled that in 2005, the veteran singer almost fell into a coma after suffering a hypoglycemic attack during one of his shows.

He also underwent emergency open-heart surgery in 2018, after it was discovered that his left anterior descending artery was blocked due to diabetes.

Gab thanked his doctors and nurses who took care of him and his family and loved ones who are praying for his recovery.
