In a deeply emotional turn of events following the sudden passing of veteran Filipino actor Ricky Davao, his former wife, actress Jackie Lou Blanco, was reportedly stunned to discover the vast wealth the late actor had quietly accumulated throughout his career.
Ricky Davao, known to many for his versatile acting, grounded personality, and humble lifestyle, kept his personal finances largely private. But after his passing, a surprising picture began to emerge—one that revealed a side of him even his closest family didn’t fully know.
According to sources close to the family, Jackie Lou, who had shared decades of marriage and children with the late actor, was left in disbelief after learning of the numerous properties, investments, and high-value assets Ricky had managed to acquire. These included several parcels of land in prime areas across the Philippines, blue-chip stock investments, savings in offshore accounts, and even a luxury vacation estate under Ricky’s name, which was previously unknown to his family.
“I always knew Ricky was responsible with money,” a family friend quoted Jackie Lou as saying, “but I never imagined the extent of what he had built. He never boasted, never gave a hint. He just wanted to make sure we were all secure.”
Despite being a public figure for decades, Ricky lived with simplicity. He avoided the extravagant lifestyle common among celebrities. Instead, he focused on his work, raising his children, and helping others in quiet ways—traits that earned him respect not just as an actor, but as a human being.
Fans and fellow artists were equally surprised by the revelation. Social media was flooded with comments praising Ricky for being a man of integrity, humility, and foresight. “It just proves how genuine he was,” one netizen commented. “Even in silence, he was taking care of his family.”
As legal matters surrounding his estate begin to unfold, there is also growing curiosity about whether Ricky had prepared a last will and testament—and who would inherit the vast wealth he kept hidden for so long.
What makes this story even more touching is not the amount Ricky Davao left behind, but how he lived his life with quiet strength and compassion, away from the spotlight of material success. His passing has left a deep wound in the hearts of those who admired him, and this new revelation adds yet another layer of depth to his already remarkable legacy.
Jackie Lou Blanco reveals regret over separation from Ricky Davao
The actress disclosed this during her interview for “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, June 9.
“I have many regrets but after a while, you need to move on and say, ‘OK, this is what I’ve learned and whatever I didn’t do right before, I won’t do it again,’” she said. “Because that’s all you can do.”
(I have many regrets, but after a while you need to move on and say, “OK, this is what I’ve learned and whatever mistake that I have made before, I won’t do it again.” That’s what you can only do.)
“It’s the learning—what you learned from that that you can share with others (which you can share to others) who are going through that and after a while, you need to forgive yourself for the wrong things that you have done,” she added.
Abunda then asked Blanco if she would change anything in her past if she could, to which she responded, “I hope Ricky and I never separated, only because I can see how affected my children were.” “Although they are very understanding, you know that they have been affected in many ways,” she added. “So I hope [we broke up] so they wouldn’t be affected in those ways.” (We should have never broken up so that the children would never have been affected in those ways.)
“What I can only do now—both of us—is to still co-parent and to still, I guess, do what we can with what we have now because you cannot change that fact,” she continued. Blanco also revealed that she and Davao currently live near each other and that their children just go back and forth to their parents’ houses.
“We’re not chummy-chummy,” she said of her friendship with Davao. “[We have] not-so-long conversations but we do [talk].”
“If I have to tell Ricky something that I cannot say in person, I text him,” she added. “Sometimes he’ll answer, sometimes he doesn’t answer, but even if he doesn’t answer, he attends to whatever I ask him to. So, that’s OK with me.” (So, I’m already OK with that.)
Blanco and Davao got married in 1989. The pair have three children together, namely Arabella, Rikki Mae and Kenneth
