With her long-standing career in ABS-CBN, the “Asia’s Songbird” has been an integral part of the network’s success and legacy.

Following the announcement of the results, Regine, who had been vocal in the past about her support for the network, found herself at the center of a fierce online discussion. Netizens, some supporting her and others criticizing her, flooded social media with their reactions.

The ABS-CBN Franchise Vote: A Momentous Decision

The ABS-CBN franchise renewal issue has been one of the most talked-about topics in Philippine politics and media for the past few years. The network’s shutdown in 2020, due to the non-renewal of its franchise, sent shockwaves throughout the country. Since then, there have been numerous debates about its fate, with various personalities speaking out both in favor and against the renewal.

With the results now out, there is a collective sense of anticipation as fans, employees, and celebrities, including Regine, anxiously await the future of the country’s largest media network. ABS-CBN has long been known for its wide-reaching influence and entertainment offerings, so the renewal of its franchise is not just a legal matter but a cultural one as well.

Regine Velasquez’s Response to Netizens: A Mixed Reaction

Regine Velasquez has always been a beloved figure in the Philippine entertainment industry, but her association with ABS-CBN has sometimes made her the target of both admiration and criticism. As a key figure in the network’s talent pool, her support for the franchise renewal did not go unnoticed, but it also drew strong reactions from netizens on both sides of the issue.

After the franchise vote results came out, Regine took to social media to express her thoughts. She shared a heartfelt post thanking those who supported ABS-CBN and its artists, acknowledging the network’s pivotal role in her career.

However, her post was met with mixed responses. While many of her fans expressed gratitude and admiration for her honesty and openness, others voiced their displeasure. Some netizens questioned her loyalty, while others criticized her for continuing to support the network despite the controversies surrounding it.

“I will continue to support ABS-CBN because they are family to me. I hope we can all move forward with love and respect for one another,” Regine wrote.

Supporters Speak Out: Standing by Regine and ABS-CBN

Despite the backlash, Regine also received support from many fans and fellow artists. Many expressed their gratitude for Regine’s willingness to speak her truth and stand by the network that has given her so much. Her supporters were quick to point out that Regine, as a seasoned professional, has the right to voice her opinion and that her loyalty to ABS-CBN is a reflection of her gratitude for the opportunities the network has given her.

“Regine has always been transparent and has always supported the people who helped her. Her support for ABS-CBN is her way of showing loyalty,” one fan commented on social media.

The support for Regine’s stance on the issue highlighted the loyalty that many of ABS-CBN’s employees, past and present, continue to feel towards the network, regardless of the controversies that have surrounded it in recent years.

Critics: Voicing Discontent

On the flip side, critics of ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal and Regine’s support for the network voiced their frustrations. Some social media users questioned her continued affiliation with the network, citing political concerns and past controversies that have tainted ABS-CBN’s reputation for some.

“It’s hard to support someone who continues to back a network that has been so controversial,” one netizen wrote.

Regine’s public persona as a beloved figure was somewhat at odds with the polarized opinions surrounding the ABS-CBN issue. However, despite the criticism, Regine remained firm in her support for the network, showing that, for her, loyalty and gratitude outweigh public opinion.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next for Regine and ABS-CBN?

As the dust settles after the vote results, Regine Velasquez’s role in ABS-CBN’s future remains an essential part of the network’s cultural fabric. Her unwavering support for the franchise renewal and the network’s cause continues to inspire both admiration and criticism. Nonetheless, her commitment to ABS-CBN and the entertainment industry remains intact.

Moving forward, Regine is expected to continue her career as one of the Philippines’ most beloved artists, and her future projects with ABS-CBN will likely remain highly anticipated by her fans and the public alike. Whether or not public opinion changes, one thing is clear: Regine Velasquez’s place in Philippine entertainment history is firmly secured, and her voice remains an important one in the ongoing conversation about ABS-CBN’s future.
