Richard Reynoso was asked about this “issue” with Regine Velasquez

OPM singer Richard Reynoso clarified the rumor that he did not want to work with Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.

Richard has been in the music industry for many years. He also did acting and hosting stints. He is now considered a seasoned singer who has done many shows here in the Philippines and abroad.

In the music industry, collaborations always happen between artists or music groups. There was a time when Richard was supposed to collaborate with Regine, but this did not happen.

Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Richard Reynoso was asked during a recent guesting on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda about the rumor years ago that he did not want to do a duet song with Regine Velasquez.

He clarified that this is not something negative. The only reason for this was that Regine’s wide range when it comes to singing. “Regine, well, she’s super good. Ang range niya ay super malawak masyado, so ang hirap sabayan,” Richard explained.

During the Fast Talk segment of the afternoon talk show, hosted by King of Talk Boy Abunda, the singer was also asked about the celebrity who almost became his girlfriend.

Richard shared that it was Broadway Diva Lea Salonga. To recall, in an interview in 2023, Richard revealed that he and Lea back then were very close friends.

At that time, he was asked in an interview if he was already courting the singer-actress. Richard was honest with his answer that he had not started courting Lea because he wanted to finish his studies.

However, he said that he was misquoted. The showbiz news report was released claiming that he was not interested in Lea, and this issue hindered his “panliligaw” and affected their friendship. Richard said that he was not given the chance to explain, and at that time, Lea was already leaving for her stints abroad.
