Why Regine Velasquez cries remembering Ogie Alcasid giving her massage

“I don’t know if it’s possible because I’m so in love with him, it’s gotten worse.”
Regine Velasquez never thought her love for husband Ogie Alcasid would get any stronger.

They’ve been married for almost eleven years, and before that, they were lovers for eight years.

Regine said, “I thank God for him every day.

“I don’t know if it’s possible, because I’m so in love with him, it’s gotten worse.

“I don’t know if it’s possible, but I’m so, so in love with my husband.”

Regine once again proved Ogie’s love when she was attacked by a build-up migraine for three weeks from June to July this year.

She said her severe migraines, which she experienced again only recently, were no joke because she admitted that she was “menopausal” and going through “hormonal adjustments.”

Regine was still in tears when she remembered that Ogie would prioritize taking care of her over resting.

“My husband was so worried. He was calling people. He even called the fire department,” Regine said on the Kapamilya morning show Magandang Buhay on August 23.

“I just wanna honor him because he was there the whole time. When he would go to work, he would check on me.

“He would give me massages even though he’s tired. He would cook for me, so that I’d feel better because I was getting depressed already.”

Regine couldn’t even get out of bed because of the intensity of her migraine.

Asia’s Songbird added: “I can’t play with my son. I can’t even watch TV…

“I think I was getting depressed. My day the whole day I was crying.

“I don’t know what’s going on, and I’m just thankful that I have my husband.” ON CRYING WHILE BEING MASSAGED
Regine continued to explain while in tears, “The first time he massaged me, I cried the whole time.

“Not because the massage was good. I was very touched that he was doing that for me.

“I know he was tired. He came from taping the whole day and he was giving me a massage.

“So it’s like, ‘Are you serious?’ So, there I was, crying [while lying on my back].

“It wasn’t because my head was hurting, but I was just deeply touched by the gesture, the effort.”

Regine joked, “I think he’s still studying massage.”

Regine said she saw how worried her husband was for her.

“Because you know when you’re my husband, what you’re hurting is his pain too, you know.”

“He may not feel it physically, but he carries it because he doesn’t want to see you suffer like that. He was suffering with me.”

MEETING OGIE AT THE RIGHT TIME
Because of Regine and Ogie’s love story, Sunshine Dizon exclaimed “I hope all!”

Sunshine was on the show because she replaced Karla Estrada, who was co-hosted by Melai Cantiveros and Jolina Magdangal.

Regine told Sunshine, “It’ll come. You know, normally, when you’re not expecting it, huh.”

Regine also elaborated on her and Ogie’s love story, “When he came into my life, I felt like I had surrendered, huh, ‘Maybe that’s how it’s always been.’ You know what I mean?

“But he came at the right time, at the right moment.

“Although our beginning was very difficult, it was very hard and very painful.

“There were a lot of mistakes in the beginning, but God gave us another chance. He made it right for us.regine and ogie’s love story
Regine first met when Ogie was just a new singer in the late ’80s.

On GMA-7’s Tonight With Arnold Clavio in 2016, Ogie said that he was the front act on Dingdong Avanzado’s show while Regine was one of the guests.

At that time, Ogie and Regine were still dating, and Regine’s manager was their chaperone.

Ogie remembers being at a restaurant, noticing a cockroach that crossed the table and Regine killed it with her hands.

“I said, ‘Oh, is that so?’ Regine looked so childish… I was so cute when she killed the cockroach.”

But their friendship was cut short, and they had their own lives.

Until their paths crossed again when they worked together on the defunct Kapuso Sunday musical-variety show S.O.P.

They became lovers in 2002, but Ogie first admitted it in a YES! Magazine June 2007 cover story.

“I love her, I’m crazy about her,” Ogie admitted at the time.

It was also there that Ogie first revealed that he had been separated from his first wife, Michelle Van Eimeren, who was an Australian candidate for Miss Universe 1994.

In June 2010, Ogie and Michelle’s marriage was annulled.

Ogie and Regine were married on December 22, 2010.

They were blessed with their only son, Nate, on November 9, 2011.
