In a shocking revelation that has rocked the Philippine entertainment industry, legendary performer Gary Valenciano — widely adored as “Mr. Pure Energy” — has disclosed a serious escalation in his ongoing health battle, sending shockwaves across fans, fellow artists, and the entire nation.

The 60-year-old music icon took to social media to share a cryptic and emotional message that strongly hinted at the worsening of a long-standing medical condition. While he didn’t go into specific details, Valenciano expressed that he is currently undergoing a series of medical evaluations, sparking deep concern among his loyal followers.

“I ask for your prayers now more than ever,” Gary wrote. “There are things I must face, and I am doing so with all the strength I can gather.”

Gary Valenciano has battled Type 1 diabetes since the age of 14 — a rare condition, especially for someone who has defied it for decades through high-energy performances, concerts, and relentless touring. In 2018, he survived a near-death experience when he underwent emergency open-heart surgery due to severe arterial blockage. His survival and return to the stage were considered nothing short of miraculous.

But this time, there’s a different kind of silence. A heavier kind.

Sources close to the singer mention that he’s been more reserved in recent weeks, canceling or postponing a few private engagements. Though no official medical statement has been released, rumors are beginning to swirl, suggesting that the situation may be more serious than the public knows.

The entertainment community has been quick to respond with an outpouring of support. Lea Salonga, Regine Velasquez, and Martin Nievera all posted heartfelt messages, with Salonga writing:

“You are light. You are strength. We are with you, Gary. Always.”

Fans, too, are flooding social media with hashtags like #PrayForGaryV and #StayStrongGary, creating a digital vigil of hope and unity.

Despite the looming fears, one thing is clear: Gary V’s spirit remains unbreakable. In his own words, “This battle is not mine alone. I am walking through it with my faith, my family, and with all of you.”

As the world waits with bated breath, hoping for positive news, one cannot help but admire the courage of a man who has given his all — and continues to fight, not just for music, but for life itself.

2nd night after being discharged from the hospital… Gary V., won’t be performing at a big venue again?!
After a health scare last Friday night, when Gary Valenciano’s Araneta Coliseum concert was cut short due to vomiting, weakness, and dehydration, the second night of the Pure Energy: One More Time concert went ahead.

Twice during the performance, his blood pressure was checked to make sure he was still healthy enough to continue performing.

“I wasn’t sure if I could do this concert tonight after battling with severe hydration,” said Gary, who has been diabetic since 14.

“I’m really taking my time because I want to finish this show for you. I’m not running on empty because I’m running on the fuse of God.”

The concert, which lasted more than two hours, ended smoothly.

This is said to be Gary’s last concert at a big venue.

John, go for expensive goods
The talented actor John Arcilla lamented the increase in prices today.

The actor even cursed: “I am not bragging that my income is higher than the average wage earner and the MOST FILIPINOS. But the price of BASIC COMODITY in the market is now HIGH.”

He even compared it to the four thousand pesos that were only available for a week: “About 5-6 years ago, it was 3-4 thousand pesos for a week including VEGETABLES, FISH and MEAT. (1,500 pesos for vegetables at the market, 1,500 pesos for fish and meat) Now a week at the market costs 8-10 thousand pesos.”

He added: “I earn more than usual. BUT I AM ALREADY OVERWHELMED BY THE EXPENSES. WHAT ABOUT THE SIMPLE CITIZENS? I thought WE WERE GOING TO BE ABLE TO SEE? What is it?”

Many of his followers agreed and their comments were purely complaints about the current high cost of living.
