Sudden Collapse Sparks Panic at Home

Initial reports revealed that Luis Manzano was at his residence when he suddenly complained of chest pains and dizziness, before collapsing in front of loved ones. Paramedics arrived swiftly and rushed him to a nearby medical facility, where he was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to a hospital source, “He was non-responsive upon arrival and was placed under intensive monitoring. We had to stabilize his vitals urgently. It was a life-threatening situation.”

The exact cause of his collapse has not been officially disclosed, but some insiders speculate that it may have been a stress-induced cardiac episode — a possible result of his busy schedule and ongoing personal challenges.

Luis Manzano undergoes biopsy to determine if ‘mole’ on head is cancerous
Luis Manzano revealed that he underwent a biopsy to determine if the lump on his head that he thought was a “mole” was cancerous. The actor did not inform his mother, Vilma Santos-Recto, of the medical procedure.

In Luis’s YouTube vlog, the TV host-actor shared that he decided to consult a doctor and undergo medical tests–including a biopsy– to determine if the lump on his head is malignant or benign.

“I need to biopsy something here on the top of my head. It’s like a biopsy, if I’m not mistaken, to check if it’s cancerous or not or if it’s malignant or benign,” the actor said.

According to Luis, he initially thought the lump on his head was a mole.

“I thought it was a mole before. That’s why I’m fooling people that I’m smart, I have a mole here [on my head],” he joked.

Until his stylist noticed that what he thought was a mole had grown.

Luis was worried that it might be skin cancer or melanoma, so he went to a dermatologist. He was told that the mole looked “OK” but was advised to consult a surgeon anyway.

It was here that a biopsy of the mole was recommended.

“You don’t hear the word biopsy every day. Even though they still say ‘it looks like nothing,’ it’s just the fact that you never thought you would go through it. Because, if you suddenly say that you need to have a biopsy, even if you say it’s just a precaution, even if you say it’s just to be sure, it seems like cancer comes to mind or something,” Luis said.

“Cancer is one of those things that even your opponent wouldn’t wish on you. I know many people who, unfortunately, have had cancer. And you see, it’s very life-changing for them. So, even if there’s still the reassurance that they say it’s not there, it’s precautionary, but the fact is that there’s a .000001,” he continued.

Luis said that he didn’t tell his mother, Vilma Santos, what he did because he didn’t want her to worry. He only told his wife, Jessy Mendiola, and his housemates.

The actor admitted that he still couldn’t avoid feeling anxious while waiting for the biopsy results. “Do I feel OK? Yes. Four doctors have already said that it’s very unclear whether it’s cancerous or something. Do you have a little bit? Of course. Because they’re going to stitch it, I’ll take you with me during the procedure, like they’re going to remove a sample and then do 2-3 stitches, so I’ll watch you. But for me, my main goal is to create awareness because of course there are so many mole growths that are being monitored, you can see them on your body,” he explained.

After a week, the biopsy results came out and the doctor told him that what he got looked like “OK” or benign but that he would still have to do a blood test (immunohistochemistry) on him.
