Manila, Philippines
In an unexpected and emotional moment that stunned fans and the entire entertainment community, President Bongbong Marcos Jr. (BBM) reportedly gifted something extraordinary to the family of National Artist Nora Aunor — and the gesture left everyone speechless.

While details are still emerging, sources close to the event confirmed that the gift was “not just symbolic — it was historic.”

🎁 A Gift Worth More Than Money

According to insiders, President BBM personally arranged the delivery of a limited-edition heritage memorabilia and a lifetime grant for the preservation of Nora Aunor’s legacy in Philippine cinema. But it wasn’t just about material value.

“This was about honoring a living legend,” said a Palace official. “President Marcos recognizes what Ate Guy has contributed to the soul of our nation.”

The gift reportedly included:

A personalized plaque of honor signed by BBM

A government-sponsored film archive in Nora Aunor’s name

An educational fund for her grandchildren

And, to the shock of many, a private letter from the President himself, thanking her for her lifetime of artistry

😱 “We Were Speechless” — Nora’s Family Responds

Nora Aunor’s family, some of whom were present during the private ceremony, were visibly emotional.

“We had no idea the President would do something like this,” one family member shared. “We are overwhelmed. This is more than an award — it’s a message that her work will live forever.”

Even Nora Aunor, often known for her composed nature, reportedly teared up upon receiving the honor.

🎬 From Superstar to National Treasure

The gesture comes at a time when the Philippines is re-examining how it honors its cultural icons. Nora Aunor, known as the “Superstar” and now a National Artist for Film, has long stood as a symbol of Filipino artistry, resilience, and humility.

Many fans recall her early struggles and how she rose from poverty to global acclaim. BBM’s surprise tribute is seen by many as a healing gesture — not just for Aunor, but for the many artists who continue to be undervalued in the country.

🇵🇭 The Nation Reacts

Netizens flooded social media with hashtags like #ThankYouBBM and #HonorAteGuy, with many calling it one of the most respectful and heartfelt moments between Malacañang and the artistic community in years.

“This is how we honor legends while they are still alive,” wrote one user.
“Not just posthumous tributes — real, living recognition,” added another.

❤️ More Than a Gift — A Message of Unity

This unexpected gesture has ignited conversations around legacy, national pride, and how politics and art can intersect without conflict.

While President Marcos Jr. has had a complex history to navigate, this particular act is seen as a rare and genuine moment of unity.

As one political analyst puts it:

“When you put aside politics and just see humanity, these moments shine.”

🎤 Final Words

As of now, neither Nora Aunor nor Malacañang has issued an official statement, but the nation is already talking.

“BBM just gave the kind of gift that money can’t buy — respect.”

Nora Aunor’s family clarifies cause of death
The family of Superstar Nora Aunor has clarified reports about the real cause of her death.

The siblings Ian, Lotlot, Matet, and Kenneth de Leon appeared before the media to give a statement regarding their mother’s passing.

Ian served as the spokesperson for their family, who is the only biological child of Ate Guy with her ex-husband Christopher de Leon.

Her siblings Lotlot, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko were all adopted by the Superstar.

Ian said that his mother was confined on April 10, and on April 16 she underwent an angioplasty, a procedure where blocked coronary arteries or main blood vessels that supply blood to the heart are opened.

There are also reports that Ate Guy had Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), which was also the disease of the late King of Comedy, Dolphy.

According to him, during the operation, Nora had difficulty breathing, so the doctors had to do another procedure.

Ian also said that events in life are inevitable, and they believe that God has better plans.

At the same time, Ian once again thanked all those who have extended and are still extending their sympathy for the passing of their mother.
