In a surprising twist that has captured public attention, the last will and testament of veteran actor Dennis Padilla has allegedly been made public — and sources close to the family reveal that it contains unexpected provisions that have left his daughter, actress Julia Barretto, deeply stunned.

A Father’s Final Say?

After years of a publicly strained relationship between Dennis and his daughter Julia, the emergence of his last will has stirred new controversy. While details remain largely confidential, insiders claim that the contents are both emotional and, in some parts, confrontational — a reflection of the complicated dynamic between the father-daughter duo.

According to unverified reports, Dennis’s will not only outlines his wishes regarding his assets but also includes a personal letter addressed to Julia. The letter, reportedly heartfelt but direct, expresses disappointment, longing, and hopes for reconciliation — themes Dennis has not shied away from discussing in past interviews.

Julia Barretto “Taken Aback”?

Sources close to the Barretto family suggest that Julia was caught off guard upon learning what was written in the will. Despite maintaining a relatively composed public front, those close to her allege she was “shocked and emotional” after reading her father’s words.

The situation has allegedly sparked mixed reactions within the Barretto family, with some urging Julia to take the will as an opportunity to reflect, while others advise her to remain cautious, given their complicated past.

Not About the Money?

Contrary to expectations, the buzz surrounding Dennis’s will is not centered on inheritance or financial matters. In fact, one insider claims:

“It’s not about the money. It’s about what was said — and who was mentioned. There’s raw emotion in it.”

Some speculate that Dennis’s message in the will is more about setting the record straight and making peace, rather than creating division. However, others argue it could also add tension, especially if family members interpret his words as a form of guilt-tripping or public pressure.

Social Media Reacts

As word spread about the will, social media erupted, with fans of both Dennis and Julia chiming in.
Many were sympathetic toward Dennis, praising him for still thinking of his children despite the emotional distance. Others defended Julia, noting that her silence may be a form of self-protection after years of emotional stress.

A trending tweet read:

“Dennis Padilla may be hurting, but so is Julia. Families are complicated. We shouldn’t judge what we don’t fully understand.”

Will This Lead to Healing?

The biggest question now is whether this last will — potentially Dennis Padilla’s final attempt at communication — will mend or further damage his relationship with Julia. While neither party has officially commented on the circulating reports, fans are hoping for a quiet reconciliation away from the spotlight.

Until then, the Barretto-Padilla saga continues to unfold, leaving the public watching closely — and hoping that behind the drama, a family can still find its way back to healing.

Julia Barretto admits she and Dennis Padilla no longer speak: ‘I do hope for healing’
Actress Julia Barretto admitted that she and her father, Dennis Padilla, no longer speak.

In Julia’s latest interview video released by ABS-CBN broadcast journalist Karen Davila on her YouTube channel, she explained the reason why her relationship with her father ended up like this.

Julia admitted that she feels scared. “I’ll be very honest. We have not spoken and it’s because there’s just so much fear inside me. I’m really scared,” she said.

Although not physically, Julia is said to be tired of repeatedly causing them pain and doing things to get back at them. “And you know, I just want to kind of breathe a sigh of relief from that cycle,”

However, Julia clarified that the issue is not forgiveness but forgetting what he did. She added that she feels scared because she doesn’t know what will happen in the future if they make up.

“I think it’s not difficult for us to forgive. But it’s difficult to really just… It’s not the forgiveness, it’s to forget. It’s also just, there’s a lot of fear because I don’t know what’s going to happen. But forgiveness, of course, definitely,” she explained.

Julia also said that she’s not just ready right now but she’s not withholding forgiveness from her father.

“That’s for my own peace of mind, right? I won’t withhold forgiveness but I’m just not that ready. There’s just been so much pain over the years since I was young. So it seems like I got tired of the same thing,” she said.

According to Julia, she knows for herself that her parents should be loved but like everyone else, she’s also human and hurts.

“In the commandments, no matter what happens, they’re your parents. And I always ask God, actually, I say: ‘You know God, I know a parent is a parent and I’m only just a child but at the same time where is the boundary that a child is also allowed to get hurt and have their own pains?’”

According to Julia, all she needs from her father is love and care.

“I just need more love from him. More love, more protection. I just feel like he should be my number one protector and that’s not really what I’m getting right now from him. So it does hurt because he should be the one I’m running after, right? But it is sad that I can’t. So I pray for it,” she said.

Julia said she is hurting more now because she knows that her brother Leon is hurting too.

Leon will be remembered for releasing an open letter to his father this year.

“I think it was because it wasn’t new. But it was more like pain because before it used to be just between my dad and I. And now it was between my younger brother and my dad. And it’s painful because sometimes if only I could just spare my siblings from some traumas from certain conversations,” she said.

“Thankfully, Leon is brave,” said Julia, praising her brother for being responsible as a son and brother.

“And he’s so protective and he’s the youngest. I’m grateful he spoke up and he protected us,” she said.

Despite everything, Julia said she’s not closing her door on the possibility that their family will get better.

“I think it’s possible. But I do hope though that there’s healing between everyone and that can be resolved. But I’m not sure if it can ever be the same again. But that’s just the truth. I’m not sure if it can ever be the same again but I do hope for healing and just be resolved.”
