In a dramatic turn of events, former actress and public figure Marjorie Barretto made headlines once again — this time not for a family feud, but for an unexpected legal controversy. Barretto stunned netizens and the media when she faced the public head-on following her reported arrest by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
🔥 What Happened?
According to early reports, Marjorie was apprehended in connection with a confidential case that remains under investigation. While details have yet to be fully disclosed, sources suggest the incident may involve allegations of financial misconduct or a civil complaint that reached a legal tipping point.
But in true Barretto fashion, Marjorie did not shy away from the cameras. With her head held high, she addressed reporters outside the NBI office, saying:
“I have nothing to hide. I am fully cooperating with the authorities. My conscience is clear.”
Her bold move drew mixed reactions from the public. Some praised her courage and transparency, while others couldn’t help but recall the long list of controversies surrounding the Barretto clan over the years.
⚠️ The Aftermath
Legal analysts believe this may only be the beginning of a lengthy legal process, especially if the case involves multiple parties or sensitive political connections. Meanwhile, fans and critics alike await more official statements from the NBI and Marjorie’s legal team.
As the dust settles, one thing is certain: Marjorie Barretto is once again at the center of national attention — and this time, it’s more than just family drama.
Marjorie Barretto, scolded, cursed by Joel Lamangan
Showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz and award-winning director Joel Lamangan reminisced about the movie “Anghel Na Walang Langit” where they worked with Marjorie Barretto, Vina Morales, Albert Martinez, and others.
Ogie suddenly mentioned to Direk Joel in his latest vlog on Thursday, October 26, about what the director allegedly did to Marjorie.
He said: “From then on, I said, I don’t want to work with Direk Joel anymore. I can’t stand him cursing on set; he’s always angry. Everything seems tense. Especially when there’s a scene with Marjorie Barreto where she has to cry so hard she can’t stop crying.”
So what the award-winning director did was scold and cursed Marjorie until she cried.
I told him, very good. “It just had to be that way,” said Director Joel.
“You hurt Marjorie’s feelings then,” Ogie confessed while laughing.
“But she cried,” the director defended.
Currently, Director Joel has reportedly reduced his anger a bit because he might die early. It can be recalled that he has suffered four heart attacks and has undergone surgery.
