The next “Darna” Jane De Leon admitted that there is pressure on her now that she will be replacing the primetime slot of Coco Martin’s popular “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano.”

In an interview after the press conference of ABS-CBN’s brand new offering on Monday, the young actress answered several other members of the press.

Jane shared that the preparation for their teleserye under the guidance of director Chito Rono was not easy.

“Actually, Director Chito didn’t scold me at all, just focus, be alert. He just really doesn’t like being stupid,” the actress said without hesitation. Jane admitted that she is nervous now that she will be replacing the almost seven-year-old “FPJ’s Ang Probinsiyano.”

“It’s stressful because any artist who has a show wants to change their slot and I didn’t expect that I would be the one to replace them. I don’t know Coco’s reaction now but I’m so grateful and happy,” said Jane and promised to give her best to the project.

The actress was also asked about her relationship with Joshua Garcia while filming “Darna.”

“Actually at first, we were awkward, we were groping each other but slowly we worked out our friendship and the good thing about it is that we became comfortable with each other,” she said.

After being cast as Darna in 2019, which was originally supposed to be made into a movie, the new actress did not hide that she was affected by the bashing she received on social media. I was really affected too. When [I] started out with Darna, I didn’t know how to handle it because of course from a new artist, who am I, I also have questions about myself. But slowly with my family and friends, they support me and [as long as] there is one person who trusts me, I push [myself],” said Jane.
