It’s no longer just rumors. It’s no longer hearsay. It’s official: GRETCHEN BARRETTO and ATONG ANG are now PERSONS OF INTEREST in the long-unsolved case of the MISSING SABUNGEROS.

After years of silence, cover-ups, and theories, new evidence has surfaced — and it’s explosive.

What began as a tragic mystery has now turned into a ticking time bomb involving power, politics, money, and two of the most controversial names in Philippine high society.

🕵️‍♂️ “Persons of Interest” – What That Means

According to a leaked internal memo from a joint task force involving the NBI and PNP CIDG, Gretchen Barretto and Charlie “Atong” Ang have been classified as official suspects — or in legal terms, “persons of interest with direct knowledge and potential involvement” in the forced disappearances of at least 11 sabungeros (cockfighting financiers) between 2021 and 2022.

📄 The document, dated June 28, 2025, lists “financial dealings, surveillance records, and recovered messages” as grounds for further investigation.

💬 One official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said:
“We are now beyond speculation. There is hard data. GPS. Call logs. Witnesses.”

📸 A Paper Trail of Secrets

According to insiders, the most damning piece of evidence was uncovered only last month — a series of encrypted text messages recovered from a seized burner phone belonging to a missing sabungero’s driver.

In those messages, investigators allegedly found:

Direct references to meetings at a private property in Tagaytay owned by a Barretto family associate.

Mentions of “GA” (Gretchen-Attong), code-named in conversation.

Talk of payoffs, “reminders not to talk,” and a chilling phrase: “Once they disappear, the noise will stop.”

Authorities also uncovered CCTV footage from a casino where Atong Ang was seen meeting with two of the victims days before their disappearance.

😱 Why Gretchen? Why Now?

For years, Gretchen Barretto had successfully distanced herself from the darker side of Atong Ang’s business empire — portraying herself as a philanthropist, socialite, and partner in “legal gaming operations.”

But this time, her name appears on a vehicle registration tied to a black SUV used to transport one of the missing sabungeros to an “off-the-grid safe house.”

The bombshell?

That SUV was registered under a shell company where Gretchen is listed as corporate secretary.

“There’s no way she didn’t know,” said one investigative journalist close to the case.
“She may not have pulled the trigger — but she’s sitting in the room where decisions were made.”

💔 Families React: “We Finally Have a Name.”

For the families of the missing sabungeros, the developments have brought mixed emotions: hope… and horror.

“We begged for answers. They called us crazy. Now look where we are,” said one mother whose son vanished in early 2022.
“If Gretchen and Atong are truly involved, they must face justice. No amount of power should protect them.”

Many families are now considering a class-action legal complaint, should charges be filed.

😤 Gretchen’s Camp Fights Back

Late last night, Gretchen Barretto’s legal team issued a fierce denial:

“Our client denies any and all allegations involving illegal activity, disappearance, or criminal conspiracy. This is political manipulation and character assassination, weaponized by those who fear her influence.”

Meanwhile, Atong Ang has remained silent, reportedly “out of the country” for medical treatment — though immigration records show no official departure.

Coincidence? Or planned escape?

🌐 Netizens EXPLODE

Social media platforms caught fire within minutes of the leak. Top trending tags included:

#AtongFiles

#BarrettoGate

#NoOneAboveTheLaw

One viral TikTok video showed old footage of Gretchen at a luxury party — overlaid with captions like:

“Dancing while families were begging for justice?”

⚖️ What Happens Next?

Legal experts believe that if formal charges are filed, Gretchen and Atong could face:

Obstruction of justice

Conspiracy in enforced disappearance

Money laundering (if illegal financial trails are proven)

Possible connection to illegal e-sabong operations under previous administrations

And here’s where it gets politically terrifying:
Several high-profile names in government and entertainment could also be dragged in — as Gretchen and Atong allegedly never operated alone.

🧨 Final Word: This Is Just the Beginning

What started as a whispered theory has now grown teeth — and it’s biting into the very core of elite power circles in the Philippines.

Gretchen Barretto, once untouchable, is now under the nation’s microscope.
And Atong Ang, long known as the king of underground gambling, may be facing his final bet.

The truth is surfacing.
And for the families of the missing, that truth might finally bring justice — or more heartbreak.

MANILA, Philippines — One of the suspects in the missing gamblers case has implicated prominent businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang as the alleged mastermind behind the series of kidnappings.

In a report by GMA News’ “24 Oras” on Wednesday, July 2, Julie “Dondon” Patidongan — formerly known as “Totoy” — came forward to reveal the accusations.

According to Patidongan, Ang is the one who ordered the “cleaning up” of the gamblers who allegedly cheated in the game. She also implicated Eric Dela Rosa and Celso Salazar as accomplices, as well as several personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP).

She also identified actress Gretchen Barretto as being “always with” Ang. She urged her to cooperate in the investigation.

She said she came forward because she has confidence in the new PNP chief, Gen. Nicolas Torre III.

Ang’s camp responds
Meanwhile, Ang’s lawyer Lorna Kapunan said they will file a libel case against Patidongan this July 3.

According to Kapunan, Patidongan lacks credibility to be a state witness in the case because he is allegedly directly involved in the abductions.

“The DOJ is going in the wrong direction. He cannot be a state witness,” Kapunan said
