Here is Part Two of our previous video about celebrities accused of abusing their household helpers.

In our earlier video, we included Maricel Soriano, Korina Sanchez, Barbie Imperial, Mariel Rodriguez, and Heart Evangelista — all celebrities who have faced issues related to allegedly mistreating their house helpers or domestic workers. In this second part, we’ll feature five more Filipino celebrities who have been involved in similar controversies:

1. Janella Salvador

On July 7, 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Michelle Ponco, Janella Salvador’s former personal assistant, sought help from Raffy Tulfo in Action. Michelle claimed that Janella had not paid her PHP 3,500 for the last few days of work before being dismissed.

According to Michelle, she was initially a stay-in maid earning PHP 8,000 a month, but was later made Janella’s PA, frequently accompanying her on tapings and shoots. She also revealed that she was not insured—having no SSS or Pag-IBIG benefits.

Michelle said, “It’s already hard to be a PA, and on top of that, Ma’am treated me that way.” She claimed to have more explosive revelations about Janella but was unable to speak out further due to a non-disclosure agreement she had signed.

Raffy Tulfo’s team attempted to get Janella’s side through her handler, but she did not respond. Raffy made a public appeal to her camp.

The following day, Janella responded, calling Michelle a liar. She said that while PHP 3,500 is a small amount, she would rather give it to someone who deserves it. However, she gave no further explanation as to why Michelle was dismissed.

2. Princess Revilla

Princess Revilla, sister of actor-politician Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., was accused by her housemaids of physical abuse—allegedly beating one nearly to death. She was sued twice by different helpers.

In 1997, the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) filed a PHP 1 million damages and civil lawsuit after housemaids Pracy Balolong and Rodelyn Lumactod accused her of physical and emotional abuse. A year later, the two complainants suddenly vanished and abandoned the case.

In a second case on June 11, 2008, a 17-year-old maid ran away from their home in Gasat Verde, Brgy. Ugong, Pasig City, claiming Princess physically assaulted her. The girl gave an interview to The Buzz, saying she was beaten, had her head slammed into a wall, her hair pulled, and her body struck with two broomsticks until they broke. She was forced to squat and threatened with death.

Princess denied the allegations and claimed someone had coached the helper. She also accused the maid of previously stealing a piggy bank belonging to her daughter Angelica, citing a confession letter as proof. The maid filed serious physical injury and child abuse charges, which Princess countered with theft charges.

3. Claudine Barretto

In July 24, 2013, two of Claudine Barretto’s helpers accused her of maltreatment and theft of personal belongings after she filed qualified theft charges against them for allegedly stealing jewelry and luxury bags from her home in Loyola Grand Villas.

One of the helpers, Desa Patilan, denied the accusations and claimed Claudine took her phone and tablet. Desa was jailed for nearly a year before being temporarily released with help from Claudine’s estranged sister, Gretchen Barretto.

In July 2014, the Marikina City Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the criminal complaints against Claudine due to lack of probable cause. At the same time, Claudine’s own qualified theft case against the two helpers was filed with the Marikina RTC.

In 2017, another helper appeared on Raffy Tulfo in Action, complaining of being constantly yelled at despite doing nothing wrong and being underpaid. Hired to care for Claudine’s child, she claimed she was forced to do much more and eventually left because she couldn’t handle it anymore.

4. Bea Alonzo

In March 2024, Cristy Fermin and Romel Chika discussed the growing controversy involving Bea Alonzo’s dismissed household staff. Reports circulated on social media about the rants and complaints of these helpers, especially the girlfriend of her driver.

The complaint was that, while Bea was paying SSS and PhilHealth contributions, the helpers were not allowed to process the paperwork themselves, which violates Article 4, Section 30 of the Domestic Workers Act (Kasambahay Law).

It was also claimed that when Bea’s car got into an accident, the cost was allegedly charged to her driver.

5. Sunshine Dizon and Timothy Tan

On March 18, 2019, former nanny Annabelle Agoo filed a complaint on Raffy Tulfo in Action against Sunshine Dizon and Timothy Tan.

Annabelle worked as a nanny to their child. She claimed she was suddenly fired and barred from retrieving her belongings. She said she went off-duty on March 2, 2019, got sick, and failed to return the next day without informing her employers or answering Timothy’s calls. She admitted this was a mistake.

She also denied stealing an iPhone 5, saying it had been in her bag and she hadn’t realized she had taken it.

Timothy agreed to speak on-air and clarified that they never intended to withhold Annabelle’s belongings. He also claimed she still owed PHP 3,500 of a PHP 10,000 debt. Annabelle insisted she only borrowed PHP 2,000.
