After Getting Married, I Swore I’d Never Touch My Wife Again – A Decision Sparked by One Shocking Moment
After we got married, because of one devastating revelation, I decided I would never touch my wife again. I also resolved to wait until our child turned three to proceed with divorce.
The day I met her, I thought my life had taken a turn for the better. She was beautiful, tall and slim, charming in speech, and had a certain charisma that drew me in.
I was determined to win her over, not realizing she was in love with someone else at the time. I asked for her number, texted her regularly, and invited her out for coffee. During those days, I showed care not only to her but also to her family, often buying gifts and paying them visits. Eventually, we began having romantic dates together.
Then came that fateful night. We were both tipsy, and I took her to a hotel to rest. One thing led to another. Afterward, she cried a lot—and not long after, she told me she was pregnant.
I was happy and willing to marry her, but she was upset and wanted to terminate the pregnancy.
It took a lot of convincing before she agreed to keep the baby. We got married when she was more than two months pregnant.
Coming from a conservative family that values traditional morals, my parents were not pleased when they found out my fiancée was already pregnant. But I stood firm in my decision to marry the woman I loved, and they had no choice but to accept it.
To win her over, I even approached her mother. When I learned that her parents had been divorced for years and she had been living with her mother, I felt even more sympathy and affection for her.
Life was going smoothly until everything fell apart.
One day, my parents discovered that even while pregnant, my wife was going out to nightclubs—drinking and dancing. They were furious. They blamed me for not keeping her in check and said I had married a “party girl” because I hadn’t chosen carefully.
The fact that her parents were divorced had already raised concerns for my parents, and her behavior only made things worse. I confronted her and forbade her from going out without telling me.
When her mother found out, she called and berated me over the phone.
During the argument, I mentioned that my family is traditional and that my parents couldn’t accept a daughter-in-law who behaved like that.
Her mother exploded.
She scolded me, saying I was lucky to have married her daughter.
That her daughter was a “hot girl”—beautiful and desirable—and that she only agreed to marry me because of the unexpected pregnancy. She said I should feel fortunate.
She even said her daughter had been deeply in love with a wealthy company director. If it hadn’t been for me and the baby, she might have become his daughter-in-law and not be subjected to the disdain of my family.
She claimed her daughter had cried to her many times since the wedding because she couldn’t forget her ex. She told me I should be grateful because her daughter had given up so much to marry into my family.
Her words struck my pride like a dagger.
I was a department manager from a respectable family. I never let my wife lack anything. I only ever asked her to uphold her role as a wife and daughter-in-law—I wasn’t harsh with her.
But if being married to me was her pain, and if she still pined for another man, then I couldn’t allow myself to stay with a woman like that.
Unable to believe what her mother had said, I went home in a rage and confronted my wife. To my horror, the moment I mentioned her ex, she burst into tears and admitted she had always lived in guilt for betraying him.
My heart sank. It was crushing.
The woman I loved was in love with another man.
She married me because of an “accident.”
I felt like a loser, utterly humiliated.
And all along, I thought I was the winner in this marriage.
At the time of this confrontation, we had only been married for five months.
That very night, I told her I would never touch her again.
I also made it clear that once she gave birth and our child turned three, we would divorce.
In the meantime, I told her she was free to love again—even return to her ex if she wanted to. I would also live my own life separately.
People say I’m heartless and cruel. But I loved her.
I sacrificed for her. That’s why the truth cut so deep.
I will never accept a patched-up marriage.
Nor will I accept a wife who carries another man in her heart.
