Many viewers were moved to tears during a trending emotional scene between Argus and his father, Michael, in the “Isip Bata” segment of It’s Showtime last Saturday.

Argus shared that his father, a police officer, was leaving the next day (Sunday). His father would be gone for two months because he needed to return to Sudan to fulfill his mission there.

“Daddy, please don’t go because there’s a war there. I hope the people in Sudan can all make peace,” Argus tearfully told his father, who was present in the studio.

Vice Ganda was taken aback by Argus’s response when asked about how they planned to bond before his father left.

“He shouldn’t leave yet because I’m already working here,” the child said.

Vice then advised Argus that it should still be his father’s responsibility to support their family and reminded him not to think of his participation in It’s Showtime as a job.

Michael, Argus’s father, encouraged his son to simply enjoy being part of It’s Showtime. He also expressed gratitude to the program for taking care of his son and the other members of the Batang Cute Po group.

Both Vice and Argus were in tears after Michael gave his heartfelt message.

“Beyond everything you’ll learn in school, one of the most beautiful things to know in this world is that you have a parent who loves you. You’re very lucky,” Vice told Argus emotionally, with sentiments that seemed drawn from personal experience.
