EXCLUSIVE: Bianca Gonzalez shares how her mom saved her from her first BF: ‘She was so spot on!’

As one of the kapamilya network’s most beloved hosts, Bianca Gonzalez has been part of the country’s longest running reality competition PInoy Big Brother for almost two decades now. The 42-year-old artist is also a hands-on mother of two daughters and happily married to basketball player JC Intal for 10 years. But before she started her own family, Bianca said she was thankful to have her mom Ofel help her navigate the early challenges of her personal life.

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN during the Allure Philippines magazine launch, Bianca shared one instance with her mom that always stands out for her.

“I have a vivid memory. So my first boyfriend, my mom super hated. And at that time, siyempre I was rebelling. Why does she hate him, ganyan. But dun ko na-prove na really, mothers have instinct when it comes to the boyfriend or partner of their child. And she was so spot on. So buti na lang na-save niya ako from that relationship. And needless to say, she loves my husband so much!” she shared.

in a 2015 interview with Boy Abunda on his show Bottomline, Bianca also talked about being in an abusive past relationship without revealing the identity of her former boyfriend.

“May bad boy lang akong boyfriend noon in high school. [He abused me nang] verbal, physical. Naalala ko ‘yung unang unang beses was tinulak ako nang pa-ganyan tapos nahulog ako sa ground. Tapos hindi ako makagalaw kasi hindi ako makapaniwala that that just happened. Meron silang way na pagkatapos kang masaktan, masuntok, magso-sorry sila in a super malambing way na mafi-feel mo na, ‘Oo nga ginagawa lang niya ito kasi mahal niya ako.’ Ang mangyayari, lagi siyang makikipag-break sa akin tapos ako yung, ‘Ayusin na natin,’” she told Tito Boy.

Bianca also shared in the same interview that her mother intervened once the guy made an attempt to get back with her. “Naalala ko may one fight kami na nakipag-break siya tapos sabi ko okay. Tapos nagulat siya na hindi ko na gustong ayusin. Super cut communication kasi that relationship was tago. Apparently a mother senses that so whenever he would go to the house, ayaw talaga ng mom ko,” she added.

In her Mother’s Day post in 2022, Bianca shared a sweet photo with her mom and her younger daughter Carmen, writing about her mom’s affinity with the color pink in the caption. She wrote, “Anyone who knows me knows that I dislike the color pink, I used to hardly wear/own anything pink. My mom, on the other hand, super favorite color niya ang PINK ever since. Talaga nga naman, mothers know best 🌸🌸🌸I honor my mother, Ofel, now known as Lowla! Happy Mother’s Day.”

Since becoming a parent, BIanca shared in a previous interview with PUSH ABS-CBN how much motherhood has changed her opinion about always being vocal online.

“Yes definitely. Actually if anything, actually feeling ko nga yung pagiging vocal ko about issues tempered when I became a mom. Only because one is less time for social media kasi nga you’re attending to your child and two is parang I have less energy to deal with the bashers, parang ganun. Dati kasi I was single and I’d air my opinion on an issue or a political something, ang dami ko pang energy to expend to take on the bashers, parang ganun. But when you’re a mom parang, ganito na lang talaga yung matitira mo na energy mo after taking care of your kids and working.”
