A marital scandal now surrounds one of the rumored top contenders for the House Speakership in the 20th Congress—Congressman Albee Benitez.

A copy of the complaint affidavit filed by Nicki Lopez Benitez, wife of Negros Occidental Representative Albee Benitez, has gone viral on social media. According to a report from the Politiko website, Nicki claims she was deeply betrayed, which caused her severe mental and emotional anguish. She filed a case against the billionaire congressman for violating RA 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
The complaint specifically includes multiple alleged instances of marital infidelity committed by the lawmaker. Nicki stated that she confirmed the affair after receiving a petition for the Declaration of Nullity of Marriage filed by Benitez himself. The petition reportedly included an admission that he fathered two illegitimate children.
The complaint affidavit also named actress Ivana Alawi as Congressman Benitez’s alleged mistress.
Benitez, who is among those being considered for the House Speakership, declined to give a statement to the Billionaryo News Channel. However, his lawyer strongly denied the allegations, saying the motives behind Nicki’s complaint are questionable, though Benitez is willing to cooperate with the legal process.
Meanwhile, their daughter, Victoria City Mayor Javi Benitez, has yet to release an official statement.
