Is Chad Kinis saying goodbye for real this time?
Netizens were shocked by a recent post about comedian Chad Kinis. Many were deeply saddened by the news. As a string of celebrity passings had occurred recently, people found it hard to believe that Chad would do something like this.

Richardson dela Cruz, better known as Chad Kinis, first rose to fame after joining the “Miss Q&A” segment of It’s Showtime in 2019, where he finished as the second runner-up. Although he didn’t win, the competition opened doors for his showbiz career. From there, he became part of the comedic trio Beks Battalion alongside Lassy and MC, whose vlogs gained massive popularity, especially during the pandemic.

Later, Chad signed a contract with Viva Artists Agency and made his directorial debut with the film Days of Our Lives in May 2023. On July 18, 2024, he was crowned the very first champion of LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines on Prime Video. Chad’s fame as a comedian was undeniably on the rise.

So when Chad’s official Facebook account posted a black-and-white photo of him, everyone was stunned. The poster included the words: “We regret to inform you that our beloved Chad Kinis has passed.” At first glance, it looked like an announcement of his death—especially with the black-and-white imagery and the use of the word “passed.”

However, it turned out the post was just a prank. Upon closer reading, it actually said: “We regret to inform you that our beloved Chad Kinis has passed… 2 years of being single.”

Instead of being amused, many netizens expressed anger and disappointment. They felt Chad went too far by making a joke about death.

According to those who saw the post, joking about someone’s death is in poor taste and could even bring bad luck or become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
